Received text regarding car I have listed on EBay, offered $300 less than asking price and offered to pay with PayPal I live by an old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't" I came here first to check other experiereces, boy was I right, thanks for all the posts and warnings

Person contacted me for a car I listed on ebay. The starting bid was 5000 and the person offered 10000. Not willing to go further to get scammed.

Person contacted me on a car I had for sale on EBay, wanted to offer 27,000 for a car that has a starting bid of 22,000 and will pay through PayPal. We don' t know if it was a scam and not willing to find out.

This is a variation of the Nigerian sell-your-Timeshare scam. How crazy is that? They ask the SELLER to pay. The seller NEVER pays, he SELLS. It's just a plain old advance fee scam.

He contacted me about a car I had for sale and asked me to pay him $800 first because he was able to pay the transporter. When I said I didn't have the $800 I never heard from him again.
