this number called my cell while i was at work.  i thought it was a client but no voice mail and the number is not in my address book or database.  seems to be spam... not what i need more of these days.

got this call while buffing a floor... stopped what I was doing and got tht B.S.! Its a scam call where they get u to inadvertantly pay for something, they have incoming blocked thts y it says disconnected...

I didnt pick up because it was 2 am for me, but i called back and i heard "try" and "fool them" quietly in the background in Spanish, so i hung up.

just got a call from that number. I didnt pick up because i didnt recognize it.

I just got the call from this number as well. (04:14pm pst) I didn't bother to pick it up.

440-995-8989 just called me as well.  I looked but did not pick-up.
This is a new spammer for me, I had to set-up a ringtone for
another spammer in order to be alerted not to even look.
The ringtone id in my addy is: donotanswr.  {smirk}

Now I too am off to the donotcall.gov site to register.

Dec 27 - I got a call on my cell.  I answered without looking.  It was a recorded message in English telling me I had won something.  I hung up.

Didn't get to it ontime, but calling the number back plays a "the number you have reached has been disconnected or is no longer in service" message. (there was a lot of static on the msg, doubt it comes from the phone company itself)

Got a missed call from this number, no message left.

just got a call from this number to my cell.  it left a message in Spanish.  I am on the DNC list, as well.  these people should be shot, IMO.

Got a call from 440-995-8989 on Thanksgiving, let it go to voice mail, no message left.  Tried to call that number and get a "this number has been disconnected" message.

It is next to impossible to catch these new waves of spam calls. They seem to be getting around the law and faking their number, making it impossible to call back and figure out who it is. My real question is, how are they getting cell phone numbers??? Cells are not listed anywhere but only known by the provider.

I GET CALL FROM 440-995-8989 MAY BE ONCE A MONTH. IT IS ANNOYING AND COSTING MINUTES. WHEN I CALLED BACKED FROM LAN LINE IT IS DISCONNECTED NUMBER. THIS SHOULD REPORTED TO FCC

It is spam obviously. They fake the number which isn't hard to do with the right software. Luckily my phone blocks all calls outside of my contacts, this number was in my blocked log. It seems spam calls are hot right now...I've gotten dozens on my log some multiple times a day......thnx G1 !

Just got a call from this number but let it go to voicemail since I didn't recognize the number. Voicemail message was 10 seconds of hissing sound.

Grrrrr!  I got a call from this number but I let it go to VM.  After checking this site--I see it wasn't an important call.

Apparently the Do Not Call list means nothing.
