left message Jan. 6.  Number didn't show up in call list, but left it in message. Said name was Mrs. Perhoda and she lives locally, (I live in upstate NY) but was given a long distance phone number for family protection.  Said it was an emergency and needed help immediately.

I received a phone call from "Ms. Sutherland Santiago" who stated that she was in hiding from her husband who was a "high ranking police officer" in the state of NJ and was looking for any amount of money to get her car out of the shop.  The total was $1,100 and was looking for any amount. When I asked her where I could get her the money, she said that she was "on the run" but I could use my credit card and pay the Keswick Auto Repair Shop in Baltimore, MD at: 410-243-5750. She also said that she was on the run and recently out of the hospital, she is not in the area anymore.  Does it get anymore incredulous!!! I am contacting the NJ State Police Fraud Hotline and referring all this information to them.  BEWARE!!!

Same story as above only she said she was from Brookville, Ohio. She called our small church wanting money to get out of are and away from abusive law enforcement husband with lots of money, but cut her off financially, etc.  Another obvious attempt to rip off churches who are struggling to serve people in  legitimate wqys.

Just received a call from a woman named Vanessa.  She stated she needed to speak to the pastor of our church.  Stated she was involved in a domestic incident and is a local woman (upstate NY) but was given this cell phone to use.  Looks like a scam due to the similarity of other calls from this same number with the caller using multiple names.

Got a call from this number as well, left on church answering machine.  It traces to Baltimore MD.  Caller identified herself as Vanessa, said she was a local resident (we are in the lower Hudson Valley NY.)  Requested call back for urgent crisis.  Did not return call.

Left message Jan. 7. Same name -- I heard as Mrs. Dora Radota. Said she needed $1300 to go out of state to escape abusive husband who was a police officer so she couldn't go to local domestic violence shelter. (Not true -- I checked this out.) Same community as bcv.
