Deal with these guys quite a bit...prices are a little high. But they send me out replacements no questions asked. Been doing so for a year and half now. There 7 year free replacement policy is great. If your smart you cash in on that!! So far they have honored it...if anything changes I will post again.

So these guys called up and spoke to my warehouse manager. They told him they were calling about a light bulb order and they needed a PO. He unwittingly gave them one, they sent the bulbs. Yesterday I get the bulbs in. I did not touch the package except for removing the packing slip, there were no prices on the slip but I am sure they were charge around $600 for about 12 T8 bulbs.

Now here is the important part! How I easily got them returned, no issues. They even paid for the shipping.

I called the number on the invoice, no answer but I left a voice mail with a call back number. I get a call back about 3 hours later from a man named Lee Thompson. I inform he that these bulbs need to go back. I was polite, yet firm on my position. I did not let him hang up with me until I was for sure getting these bulbs sent back. He was unwilling at first but I told him I had no use for the bulbs and the order should not have been placed. At no point did I call them out on their scam, I kept it as professional as can be. He told me he would fax over call tag instructions and UPS would be there withing 3-5 days to pick up the package.

I received his fax and the very next day UPS came with a tag for the bulbs.

I recieved a box of  25 flourescents from Johnson Distribution out of, Owings Mills, MD.... then an invoice for $594.89. I called the 877-233-6371 # on the invoice, an Allison answered and told me an accounting manager would contact me. A Kris called back and left me her 410-7024388 #. Haven't been able to get through.

I work for this company, making huge cuts on each order shipped I know its a hustle but the money is good. A $100 per order I average bout 3 a day is it wrong legally no, unless foul llanguage is used or you say do not call any more, and they keep it up.  I dont feel great morally doing it since its a rip off but what dont have b***s***. If you can match the pay I recieve I will work for you, I have ten years expirence in sales of all sorts respond if you need a money maker. Its essex industries midway industries and one in florida

Just had a call from 443-231-6623 the guy asked ?Can I speak to the Maintenance Manager again, I can?t recall his name can you tell it to me again? I said yes I can, but I won?t. You see you should have said May I speak to the Maintenance Manager.? When you learn proper English I?ll continue the conversation and I hung up. Thing of it is he?ll never get to talk to anyone here I?ve forwarded this phone number to an auto hang up mode on our phone system.

I guess I am one of many.  30 light bulbs for $587.50.  Used employees name as ordered by which he never authorized.  Called number on invoice 877-392-1789 many times. Finally got a guy who was upset I didn't call sooner. (2 weeks) Told him I'm returning via UPS and expect a corrected invoice.  He laughed.   These life long lightbulbs were accepted by us I have to pay.  Said they were accredited with BBB. I said yea with complaints. I got so mad and gave him a few choice words & he told me I was not nice lady with the language I was using.  Everyone beware.

Just got the same phone call everyone else describes from "Chuck".  He tried to trick one of our employees into thinking that someone here had ordered some light bulbs and he needed to confirm the shipping address.  We called back and had a pretty pointed conversation with him on the phone... I hope that recorded that one "for quality purposes".  The point is, you didn't order their bulbs, you "confirmed an order".  Well, call back and unconfirm it.  Say that the employee they called originally didn't have authority to order anything and was mistaken.  Dare them to send you an invoice.  If they send you any stupid bulbs, don't receive them.  Don't sign for them.  If someone already signed, call them at 443.712.1188 or 443.883.8199 or 800.483.3354, tell them to come get them, hold them in a safe place, and don't pay the invoice.  I checked our corporate records and they hit one of our other sites for $522 worth of "adhesive" twice.  Won't happen again.  Don't let it happen to you.  And don't argue wtih them on the phone or try to get the price down... just don't pay the invoice and let them try to collect.

Keep getting calls from this company or person.  Supposedly I ordered light bulbs and did not even know it.  They keep calling trying to figure out how to get it stopped.  Tired of the s*** they are doing.

BEWARE BUSINESS OWNERS!
This is how they operate, they somehow get a name of a head guy to put on the invoice, so when you receive the products you think it's legit...However we use PO #'s which is never on there..They call us all the time requesting payment for HUGE amounts on these invoices.  We figured this out rather quickly and have posted a memo to other departments to STOP receiving these items...!

Also, they have two other business names they scam with National,LLC & Johnson Distributing out of Owings Mills,MD! Hope these suckers get busted for doing this!

Ughhh.....I knew it........This is a total scam.....they just shipped me two packages of bulbs for over $1,300 ???  I am a landscape / irrigation contractor and never placed an order with these people.  I received a call from them about two months ago, and yes, they seem like your long lost friend, so friendly, so downplaying everything.  I told them I was not interested .... now lo and behold I have bulbs delivered to my office???  Reading the above posts confirms that what I suspected and I now realize I am going to have a fight ahead of me.  I just tried to fax over a complaint and the number did not work.  More aggravation that I do not need.

Do not pay for the bulbs. Tell the company that you are calling the your states Attorney General's Office and them tell them to come pick up the bulbs or issue you a hard copy statement stating you do not owe them anything!

Just received a call from "Ryan" with "Allied Plumbing" requesting to speak with our C.O.O.  He then requested his cell # and I told the gentlemen that I would like to take his number down and email it to our C.O.O.  He then requested my C.O.O.'s email and I repeated what I original told him. Then he had the BALLS to ask ME for my Facebook page b/c I sounded "cute."  I said EXCUSE ME?  And then he hung up on me!  What a jacka$$!!!!

Essex Indusries is a NIGHTMARE.  
Received a package of 10 lightbulbs (13 CF Spiral) .  Got an Invoice for  $587.50!!
DAY ONE
Called the number at the top of the "invoice" - 877-392-1789 and got "Natalie" who gave me the run around when I asked for a direct number to speak with someone in customer service.  Let's not forget that they NEVER identified the company they worked for when they answered the phone nor did they give a name.  When i was not able to get a direct number, i asked to speak to her manager.  Her "manager" got on the phone (again did not gve a name) and asked how she could help.  I asked her for her name, it was "Susan."  I then got the run around from her until she finally transfered me to "Brandon," the Customer Service Manager (Direct line to him - he said - is 443-712-1188 - no answering machine message from him on it just a female robot: "please leave a message after the tone".)  Hashed things out with him, told him his company was a scam and that I was not paying for this and that he needed to send me a UPS return label because I was not paying a dime for this.
DAY TWO:
When I tried to call the company again, they would not answer my calls.  I called from my cell phone - a miracle - they picked up the phone.  Called back from my work line, again, no answer.  Called from my cell phone again and the woman on the other end of the phone said "Hey what's up?"  I asked who this was she said "Can I have your invoice number? then hung up.  Guess who called me back after not taking my calls...yep...Brandon from a different number: 443-883-8194 Telling me he would send out the UPS Return label in a couple of days.  What a shame he sounded pissed.  Guess thats what happens when you work for a BS company and someone calls you on it...huh "Brandon."

Got a call from these guys a few weeks ago, thought they were another supplier we deal with and agreed to order a single box of bulbs (should have cost about $60, plus S&H). Received the bulbs in good order. Today received invoice for $590, needless to say was not pleased. Called the number on the invoice, 877-392-1789 and got an answering service. Service rep called back from (443) 883-8200, said the charge was so high because of "10 year guarantee". Told him I could get the bulbs at $2 a piece from local store. Rep said he would remove the guarantee and dropped the price to $150. Still way too much but I just want to be done with them. Waiting for revised invoice, we'll see if they even bother.

Watch out for these SKAM ARTIST. They will call you and act like your best friend. They will offer to send you business cards and company catalog. Then they make it sound like they are sending you something complimentary, when you say OK. They then ask for a PO to bill it to. At that point they will not let you cancel the so called order you have placed. I told them 3 time NO, do not ship and RYAN said Thanks for the order it will arrive on Friday or Monday and then he hung up the phone. If your try to call them back you get a message the number you have reached is a non working number. The 1-877-392-1789 takes you to an answering service that then try's to get more of you information. SKAM, SKAM, SKAM, SKAM, SKAM,

Got a call from this guys named James Taylor from Essex lighting 443-231-6623 asking personal questions like my cell phone number, birthday, etc...Shady Shady Shady stuff!!!!  He said he was going to send a catalog in the mail....we will see.  Called the "corporate office" at 1-877-392-1789 asked for a manager....got a call back from this number 443-883-8200 saying James Taylor is his boss....SHADY!

My co-worker and I have both been fighting with these schmucks all morning, to the point of a screaming match and threats from these people. Funny thing is, however, once I got our local Law Enforcement invovled and they tracked them down, the calls stopped after an apology from whomever had been getting hostile.

Have rec calls from this number 4 times today however; when we call it back an answering machines says "the number you are calling is unable to answer at this time" then no later than I hang up they "Bryan" calls me back explaining that he was back in the warehouse and couldnt get to the phone.
