I got a call from 0310905510 on my UK phone in Colombia for which nobody has the number other than hostels i have stayed in throughout south america.. not called it back as it might take all my credit..!

usually the one calling you knows your name and number and possibly a relative. what you don't know is that the call was routed to an international line (this line - 049055100) and so when you receive the call, it registers on your cellphone.
I thought this was a scam too but it isn't (unless the caller intends to make a scam). It is a legal number. Not hacked. Not a scam but can be used in scamming.

this is just a number that routes the call. let's say a person from Bahrain calls you, sometimes the Telephone company you are using will route the call to this number - 049055100, which is possibly a number used by many Telcos.

i also received this call just today 6/26/09. I was not able to answer it immediately and just hanged up.

i also received the same call ID/number today... upon a check with google with the area code, i was surprised that many have received the same call...

Have also received strange calls - the last one was from +44 49055100. The person keeps asking for 'Mike' or 'Mike Hutchinson', but then does not respond when I talk to him.

I received 7 calls from odd numbers over the past two days. I picked up the last two (one was an unknown #, the other was this #), only to be hung up on within 5 seconds?!
Please let me know if:
there is anyone else getting calls from this number?
i can find out who they are?
i can make it stop?
