Gullible, that all depends on what exact information you have given. If you gave out this information, you need to place flags on your credit report or have your parents do it for you.

Why can't YOU report it? You complain about it here, so why are you incapable of doing an actual report?

Just got a call from them as well.....wanted to lower my interest rate on my visa.  when I said go ahead they said they we need to verify and give them the number of the card to verify.  "No, you have the numbers, you are from Visa head office".  He got mad at me.  I just kept asking why he needs to verify my card number if he just wants to lower the interest rate....just lower it.  I eventually ticked him off so much he gave up.....I am just sad that there are probably many people who fall for this stuff!

Received a call from a duo yesterday. First spoke with a man who passed the phone to a female that he alleges is a supervisor.  They both had Indian accents and were offering a low interest rates for life because we are such good customers.  When I started asking several questions she got frustrated and used a horrible epithet (F*** y***)and hung up the phone.  These people told us they are from Royal Bank of Canada.  This is so sad I hope someone stops them....

Kind of new to this as I am only 17. What would happen if you gave them their info? (DOB, Postal Code, etc.)

Scammer. Plain and simple. Can't believe that they're using the same phone number over-and-over. Kept them on the phone 10 minutes. Told them the police had traced their number. I doubt it's even possible, though, I wonder if it's worth calling the cops about them.

This was their spiel for me (with a light Indian accent): We're calling from your MasterCard company. Congratulations, because you're such a good customer we're giving you a new low interest rate for life. You're paying 19.9% right now? Yes. (basically they were asking a bunch of questions they wanted yes answers to).

Then they go in for the kill. They already have your address from the phone book (I presume they're using 411.ca or some database like it). So they want you to confirm your postal code. Then your DOB to make sure you're you. Then the 7 digits on the back of your card (which includes the last 4 digits of the card number). Then the 8 digits in the middle of your card. Then finally the company as a final "verification".

PS I wish I'd written down the DOB and card numbers I'd given them because then they could've felt like they had my data. Still managed to waste 10 minutes of their time by putting them on hold while I "looked" for stuff.

Called 20 minutes ago.  Stated calling from head office of VISA.  Let's just say I used a few 4 letter words to tell them off.  Problem is that when they called last week, they actually called back when I hung up on them & it was a 519 area code but said they were from Toronto.

Got a call this morning.  They said they were visa and wanted to lower my interest rate.  They didnt know my name but had my address.  They wanted the 3 numbers on the back of my card.  The crazy thing is, he gave me his name and employee reference #.  I knew they were scanners but they are getting tricky.

Another one of the spoofed numbers used by the "card services" scammers in their attempts to rip us off. Google my name to learn how to stop their annoying calls, while also having some fun!

You were called by the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!

This is getting crazy!  It's 11am and this number has already called me 4 times. Twice people saying it's Master Card Fraud Department. Someone was attempting to put a major purchase through on my account and the system flagged it so could I verify my birthday, account #, SVC# on back and credit limit. knew this was a scam right away when I questioned him why he kept calling me Mr.???? My name may be Ayden but I am female. That second man didn't get 3/4 through and he hung up. Last two were from what sounds like the same lady yelling hello, hello repeatedly.

Received a call from this number yesterday advising me due to my excellent credit with CIBC Visa I was being offered 5.99% interest rate but I would need to provide my expiry date to confirm they had the correct person.  I declined but the person was extremely persistant.  I asked him to provide information about me but he said he couldn't without me first verifying my card expiry date.  I again declined and hung up.  I called CIBC Visa and they advised not sanctioned from them as I suspected.

This number called my Mother in Law at 10:25 am (AST) claiming they were Visa Fraud investigations. They requested to know the credit limit on her account and the interest rate that she pays. Since she knows that any legitimate caller from Visa would already know her credit limit, she hung up on the caller.

Got a call from this number regarding interest rates on my mastercard. When I said I do not pay interest, the caller said, "I can't get through to you, you are just an idiot, goodbye maam." Then he hung up. The call left me very upset.
