Caller id says "local call area" have had calls from TEX XXX XXXXX some s***- I answered it with a fax program- we'll see if they call back (sticker selling crooks- don't get suckered in- little if any of your contributions actually ever make it to help wounded law enforcement or their families.

I got a call too, It is not Texas state troopers association, It is a different trooper organization.

Called me soliciting a donation for the TX State Troopers Association - quite abrupt and rude - if legitimate, I would think that the Caller ID would reflect "TSTA" or something like that - this may be a scam...

yep these calls are rude and the telephone companies like VERIZON will not do anything about them.

Call from 469-287-8238. Caller ID said "LOCAL CALL AREA." Recorded male voice keyed off my answeres to questions about donating money to families of slain police officers. The voice gave a spiel and then asked if he could count on me to donate $50. I said NO and it keyed off that to give another spiel and then ask for $25. Another no and it asked for $10. The recording finally hung up. reported it to the do not call hotline.

Called on a saturday morning waking everyone up!! Went into a long sales type speech about giving money to wounded police officers. I told him to remove my number from the call list & he said that wouldn't stop the calls!?!? WTF really?! So I said don't call here early Saturday morning waking everyone up & hung up on him!! Rude!

Called and wanted a donation for state troopers. Depends on the decals. Gold is more than silver etc..The call comes from Texas and I live in South Carolina. I hung up on this guy half way through his little speech.

Called my home phone asking for my father by name, caller identified himself as David Haines(sp?). Would not leave a message other than saying, "Please tell him David Haines called, we'll call back." The caller then hung up.
