I received 3 emails and on them they showed that phone number which I called and found out that it
did not belong to a subscriber.  I knew that it would be a scam. I posted a dining room table for sale and
he pulled it off on us.  I received 3 emails from Matt Johnson

Total SCAMMER!! I was trying to sell something on cragistlist also and this guy "Matt" e-mailed me back. This e-mail sounds very professional but while reading I got a gut feeling this wasn't legit. I typed in his phone number on google and I read Joe's post.

I got an email from Matt Johnson  <dickeykenny13@gmail.com> with this phone number on my Craig's List ad (bukkies4luv3@gmail.com> was the email address my response actually went to when I sent emsil to meet face to face only.  I also had an email from  GRANT EWARDS <mary966550@gmail.com> on another item worded almost the same & when i googled the name it found lots of messages about GRANT EDWARDS with a gmail address (Sure he just dropped one letter from the name & hoped no searches found it). Unfortunatly I did give this guy my information but it looks like the scam is after the fake check/draft arrives with extra money added & instuctions. Face to face & cash only is my golden rule now on Craig's List.

2 reply, I just received the confirmation from my Secretary that the payment has been issued and mailed out to you using courier service, hopefully will be delivered to your address within 2-3days,but to my greatest surprise the check was issued out in the sum of $2000 instead of the actual cost of my purchase.She claimed that I requested for that amount to be issued out to you but am very sure I only made a request for just the cost of my purchase. I know this a terrible mistake and I was just informed about this few moment ago.






3 reply Please once the check is delivered, kindly take it to your Bank and have it deposited into your account for 24hours for clarification. You will then deduct the cost of my purchase, the remaining balance should be sent to my mover via MoneyGram next day at any Walmart or Kmart as I've already planned in using the excess funds to offset his previous bills so that she can come over for the pick up ASAP. I will need your response assuring me that I can trust you to handle this appropriately as requested. I'm very sorry for the inconveniences and I have decided to add $100 to cover the cost of your running around to the Bank and Walmart store, thank you for the understanding and hope to read from you shortly
Am so glad the payment has been delivered. Do take it to your Bank on monday and have it deposited for 48hrs for clarification before you wiring the rest of the funds to my mover via Money Gram Tuesday.

fake check fack check the check was hold for verfication. so incase he chages his email address because proffesional scammer usually do even the phone number. Take notes  if your sale your item

This man doest accept wester union or refund his money in personal check !!! he accept money gram bc money gram never ask for id verification never take photos. Wester union take photos sender and receiver.

I did filed for police report and report to money gram reference # they might fix case or might never do. lol! lesson learn.so dont be afraid to report Scam !!!!

I got the same message as everyone else and smelled a RAT! This is one of many bogus replies I have gotten from craigslist, so my normal reply is IN PERSON, CASH ONLY! I will check with my detectives and see if we can set these guys straight on what happens to thieves and scam artists in Texas

Thank God I came on here to check this number. He just tried to get IKEA sinks from me. Something wasn't right. He had poor grammar, and was talking entirely too much. For him not wanting to come see the sinks was a trigger to come check this number out. He said the same thing to me as he did the rest of you. DO NOT FALL FOR PPL  who want to write paragraphs on craigslist. MY philosophy.

Happened to us this week. Same guy, Matt Johnson, sent me too much money and wanted his "mover" to come get my stroller and me to send the money via MoneyGram!

this guy just tried to buy something from my husband sending us a check. we have not gotten anything yet from him but i started to think something was up because he said he was going to sent his
"mover" to come get it and he said he had his "secretary" mail us a check for $2000 instead of $200 and for us to send him the rest via moneygram. thought it all sounded way out there. so glad i found this but now im scared to death because he has my husbands name number and our freaking address!!!!!!!
