I was notified by this number through a dating website. Was asked to txt, I did and over the course of several days and a lot of sad stories was asked to send Money! I said No!
I did let them know I was reporting them as a scammer!

Someone on Craigslist trying to steal furniture.

Say they will add 50.00 to the bad check they are going to give you in exchange for your stuff.

TOTAL SCAM!

I got the same thing, 50 for the favor of holding it, I just text his and said the cops are looking into this and he just droped off. We need laws for this ar maybe a gun.

Within 2 hours of posting an item for sale with a phone number to contact me, I received a text from this number that stated only the title of my posting.  Since I didn't recognize the area code 469 as local, I googled and found complaints about scams related to it.

SCAM SCAM SCAM beware of this number it was an attempted SCAM!
Want's you to send your full name and address to send a check with an extra $50 to "hold in his favor" and requests you to remove item from posting to look authentic.
If you are this criminal reading about your self right now, GET A JOB!  It's far more rewarding!!!!!

If they mention a "shipper" you never heard of - it's a scam.
If they want to send a check - it's a scam.
If they mention Western Union, Moneygram, or Green Dot - it's a scam.
If they can't meet you in person - well, you know the rest.

This person got my info from craigslist, wanting to buy something.  Could not meet me but would send someone to pick it up.  Did not give me a name when I asked, but wanted my information.
