Again, another random call from some place where I have never been. Called back thinking I would get to speak to someone who could take me off their calling list, but instead was instantly put on hold. Why is this not illegal? I feel like Im being harassed.

Voice activated recording. The amazing part is that it was interactive. Computer's name is, "Amy" selling auto insurance.  I asked who was calling and a recorded response replied, "The National Institute of Auto Safety". I asked if it was a real person and another recording in a different tone said "Yes, Why do you ask?". I said that the response sounded well rehearsed and another recording (in another tone) interrupted me and said. "It's been nice talking with you, Good-Bye".

The timing of responses was a little off, but it was somewhat convincing. I bet in less than 20 years, the job of telemarketer will be replaced by automated computers with lightning fast response time.  IBM Watson - Jeopardy.

I called back and it was car insurance sales

Been receiving calls from this number for 3 months straight, call three times a day every day. This week have started calling every hour. I have call control call blocker on my phone that will not let these calls through. Will be filing an official report today.

Called me, no one answered.  I read the posts on this site.  I called back.  On my 3rd call back I got the car insurance message and the option to press 1 for a rep or 2 to  be placed on the "don't call" list.  I called 3 times successfully reaching the  message and pressed 2 each time.  Next 10 call backs all busy.  I've wasted enough of my time.  No wait, I called back again and pressed 1 to get a rep.  I asked the rep what the name of the company was.  She said, "Nation Insurance Company" and said they were a non profit that used government assistance to get you better rates.  She asked me confirm that I would change insurance if I was gonna save money.  I agreed then hung up.  I can't find any such company with a google search.

Got a call from this number so I answered. It was a moderately peppy sounding woman who was talking about auto insurance. I acted interested to build her confidence. She continued with her spiel for a little while when I politely interrupted her to ask her if she was wearing stockings or pantyhose. Before she could answer I began to go into detail about how I prefer a woman's hosed foot on my crotch, gently massaging away any tension I had built up in my nether-regions.

The woman just hung up. I tried to call back but could not get anyway to respond to my "erotic" intentions.

I answer these phone calls and ask for operator.  The voice "Ann" says they are a real person and can help me by selling me auto insurance.  As soon as I ask a personal question or tell them I don't have a car, it hangs up. Starting to get fun playing with the computer program and asking different questions.

And one who knew the difference between manner and manor.

Computer caller, that sounds very human.  I said not interested, but it continued to ask for my information.  Beware, robo-callers sounding more human, and not prerecorded.  It started call with "Uh,  Hi this is Sam"  like its human and knows you.

Received call, did not answer. Called back and got busy signal.

Pretty much the same situation as most of the people here. I got a call from the number, answered it said hello but no one replied, hung up, tried to call back, got a busy signal. I'm not too worried about it, if you Google this phone number, seems like a lot of people have been dealing with this issue with this phone number. It's actually how I found this site.

Missed the call. No voicemail was left.

Got a call from this. "HELLO HELLO". Hang up. =

Oh and by the way, a manor is a building....a manner is a way of being.

Well, I would say the person who has that job is the kind that needs to eat. They might even be a person who knows that they "knew" you, not "new" you.

called my cell three times.  no sound on the other line.

I answered and only said hello once. There was nothing to be heard on the other end. They hung up after a few seconds.

got a call from this number today. was at work. did not answer when i did not recognise the number. i am glad i checked this site. good to know i did the right thing. this number is now in my reject list.

I answered the call and they acted like they new me and we were old friends. It was a woman that tried to sell me insurance. I hung up and they are now blocked. Would you buy insurance from someone who called you on the phone in that manor? What kind of life have you had that you would take a job to do sometime like that. WOW!

Block the number from making future calls to your phone if you're able.

Received call a short time ago. Never answer calls from random numbers so didn't answer. They didn't leave a voice mail.

Just got a live human who launched into the "save you money on your auto insurance" spiel. When I said it was a cold call to a cellphone, she started the spiel over. When I said do not call me back, she hung up. Said her name was "Amy".

I got a call from this number, they were asking information about zip code and talking about saving money on car insurance. Once I gave my zip code and said yes they hung up.
