Got a call at 4:02 am from this number..that in itself is unsettling. I figured it was my Nigerian prince.

Check your phone bills, I just got charged $30 for international calls and the only international number on my call list was this 473-520 # seriously pissed off right now!!!

This number showed up on my phone bill with chargers. I had to call my service provider to dispute the charges. Not sure how all this occurred, but would advise you not to answer, hang up if you do, and certainly do not call the number back.

if you call back to 473 you and get charged maybe $25 per minute.. Scammers get a percentage.. block 473 on yer fones.  SCAM.

I got a call just now from this number. It only rang twice. I thought it was strange so I looked it up (originated in Granada). I found this blog. Seems fishy...thanks for all of the previous comments.

My log showed 47 35 20 97 08 as well, and since I have friends in Norway, this was confusing to me. Caller hung up after one ring as well. Thank you all for posting.

I use a cell phone security monitoring program which reported a short (0.3 second!) call from 473-520-9720 (Sunday morning, 06:13, PST).  I doubt ANY data could be "mined" DURING the extremely-short duration "call", which does seems more an attempt to promote a call-back (short-duration also being the reason these calls are often not heard).
In addition, it seems likely they're too short to be chargeable (in Granada); in other words, they may well be making these [harassment?] "phone calls" for free.

Same here hit my husbands phone then mine at 3am. Damn robo calls! I am going to black all calls from that area code.

What kind of scam did your carrier say it was?  Are you sure someone cloned your cell phone, so that there is another cell phone out there with your number in it?

Or, more likely, did the call to Grenada (you ARE aware that your 10 minute call was to small tropical island, rather than a domestic call, aren't you?) drain your allotment of international minutes or, worse yet, did they charge you $25/minute, like the old "900 sex chat lines" did?

What we would *all* like to know was whether the number that you called back was a premium call service -- one that charges far more than the usual international calling rates, and where a lot (probably most) of the extra charges go directly to the scammers.  Since they are outside of the US and Canada, it is hard to know whether the number is a premium call service or not, and since they are operating out of the reach of US and Canadian law, they may not have to warn you of the charges you have to pay or ask you permission to charge them when you call back.  (Hence, the elevator music and the long wait.)  The charge would appear on your phone company bill, and you would have to dispute it with someone not subject to US law -- in Grenada.  And the per-minute premium wouldn't be subject to FCC limits, either.

Please give us more details!  This is the first clear case I've heard of where someone appears to have had their phone account sucked dry on account of one of these calls.  The information you provide may turn out to be extremely useful.

So I called my carrier and turns out sneaky lil buggers cloned my number. IT IS INDEED A SCAM. My carrier confirmed it and they are quick as well as efficient. Change your codes and if you used the same phone to make a payment after they called you might have to call the card company and freeze your account... Seriously be CAUTIOUS.

Getting the same thing. Call your cell phone provider and block the numbers. Its free thru Verizon, but idk about the other cell fone companies. Have received many calls from 473-520-9720, 473-456-1962, 473-456-1946 - all hours of the day and night. Can't block the numbers fast enough. I also tried to return one call to see who it was, however got the same as above - A recording that said "hold for the operator." I'm going to try to call the National "do not call list" center. This prevents telemarketers from calling you. Verizon gave me these 2 numbers for the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL list/center. 1-888-382-1222 and 1-866-290-4236. Hope this info helps some of you.

I have no ideia who are these people or what they want, but  they just don't stop to call mu phone was like 7 calls in the ssme day so inapropriate .

My husband and I also received those calls during the night.  It appears to be random with all numbers starting with +47 35 20 97 and another 2 digits that are random.  All 4 calls we received had different last 2 digits, i.e.,  +47 35 20 97 20, +47 35 20 97 98, +47 35 20 97 61 and +47 35 20 97 15.   I contacted AT&T and their answer was to ignore them.  I have unlimited calls because I also use my phone for business reasons.  This definitely seems to be a spam and whatever you do, don't call back.

My wife and I have both received hang up calls from this number and several others all coming from the 473 area code. Some were listed as unknown while a couple showed up as coming from Norway. The last two numbers vary.

Over the last couple of days my husband and I receive calls on 2 separate phones from numbers like the ones below.  It rings twice, then stops. No message.  We are AT&T mobile.  They will call 2 times within a 10 minute timeframe and nothing again until the next day.

gotten calls repeatedly from this number. They answered once, said something in Spanish and hung up. Will watch phone bill for charge from this area code. Not legitimate.

This is in fact a SPAM call.  I got a company in Los Angeles to admit they use that service to advertise their services.  They build a list of active phone numbers.  The gal would not give me the company name though, she thought she would get in trouble.

Exactly what happened to me when I was called. I've been called 3 times now.

This call has been made to me at least 3 times. I call back and it seems like they okay techno music and a women's voice asking to wait for the operator.
