You can get a GrandCentral.com (Google) phone number (free but you may have to wait for an invite or find someone with an open invitation to give you).

Then, give out that as your number and any one routed through them can be blocked at your control, permanently stopped a number of nuisance calls we were receiving. Now, when the phone rings it's someone I need or want to talk to.

If one calls the number and listens after they ask you to hang up one will then be given an option to have the call blocked.  That process takes 24 hours.

Please make a complaint to the (FTC) Federal Trade Commission. You can look them up on the white pages.

We are recieving calls from this person and phone # as well. 1st, add your number to the 'do not call registery', it will take 30days for it to activate. If you are already registered, you can make a complaint at the same website. I have made two complaints and am still get calls. But, I see no other way at this time to do anything about it. Hopefully, with enough complaints, someone will find these people and stop them.

I am on the no call list and still get calls.  And we are not a "business", we are a church!  We do not have a website, so how can people say that they saw our website???

What kind of scam is this - are they selling this phone list????

These guys robocall me on my 800 number...so they're running up MY BILL to advertise to me! I"d like them to also "curl up and die". I think they're cowards and pigs not to have a contact to have them stop calling on my dime...

Unfortunately, it is considered B2B and the FCC won't do crap to stop it.  

The only caveat is if you are not the owner of the business llisted in their database and they are calling your home and/or cell phone, then you can do something.

I have used MC and actually was interviewed as a top merchant by Inc Magazine.  It's good for a local small business like mine to get on the web quick and easy.  The cost is free for the basic listing.  

A lot like Facebook or MySpace but for promoting B2B communities.

As far as growing my business, I have had a significant number of B2B leads that have successfully closed SALES.  First time getting a call though and not sure what to make of it.

Got a call about someone wanting me to 'verify' my site.  I want to know who and how to verify site but no one to contact (online chat available for one hour a day (so tey say)  After reading what these folks are writing I may remove my site from merchantcircle.

Yes, Merchant Circle is a company of liars and thieves.  They've sent me spam calls in the past trying to get me to visit their web site.  The first time, I had no idea who they were, and the recorded call said that someone had written something negative about my company.  I went to the web site to see what they were talking about, and it was all a lie.  It's just a spam site and there were no comments.

I suspect that they make these dishonest calls to try to drive up traffic to their site, and then they try to sell ads on the site or something, citing the traffic.  Or hey, maybe they just lie to advertisers, too.

I hope the people who run this site get killed by drunk drivers.  That way they'd die and we'd also take out a drunk driver.

It's Merchant Circle trying to get you to advertise with them...It's an emanate front..it's a put on. Hang up and don't let it rent space in your brain.

Over and over and over again this number calls me. This last time they wanted to call just to hear me say "hello" I really wish they would stop calling. This is a business, not grand central station! If you call me, then talk to me, otherwise I don't want to hear the phone ring!

This number called me at 8:37 P.M. Said they had a video of my business. I could go to merchantcircle.c0M and enter my phone number to view the video.

this company has called many times usually with a recording telling us a 'good review' of our company had been left on their website; today we were informed there was a video of our 'service' online; what's the procedure to get them to stop calling us!!!!

Just recieved a call from Merchant Circle again! The pre-recorded message this time says they have video of our company working and to view it all we have to do is go to their wesite and put our phone number in the box! This is new - normally these annoying pre-recorded people just say someone inquired about our company - now they have progressed into taking videos. Needless to say I have not gone to the site to see if it is true or not.
