Just got a call from this #, called them back and it's Assest Acceptance. A collection company based on what I researched on the web.

I just received a phone call from this number and they hung up.  When I called back I got Asset Acceptance.  They are a collection company.  They were looking for someone that I had never heard of.  When I told them that they said they would take my number out of their system.  As for the calling and hanging up, my guess is that they are on a predictive dialer, which allows call centers to maintain high activity levels by "predicting" when to have the computer time a call so that one of their representatives will be available to talk to you.  This way, the phone rep goes from one call to another throughout their shift.  I thought that this was against the "DO NOT CALL" telemarketing laws, but maybe there is a loophole or something.

Same thing. They called and did not leave a message. I called back and got Asset Acceptance. I did not stay on long enough to see what it was about, but looked up their website. Collection agency.
