Unfortunately many sources may have sold your information -  the State [Vehicle Registration], the Dealership where you bought the car and the "Participating Partners of the Finance Company" can sell your information to Data Merchants.

If you haveToyota, Ford or GM, the recent recalls have necessitated 3rd parties to contact previous owners- presenting yet another way your info is sold. You may get several calls on the same vehicle in fact as they don't seem to know who has or has not been contacted!

The way I knew it had to be the State was that I recently changed my name back to my maiden name after my divorce in this case. I have never financed a vehicle - so that pretty much let me know the source of the last call.

Called me too. Who gave them my car info anyway. Lender Dealer or Insurer??? Im pissed.

Called my cell phone, claiming to be representing "Vehicle Processing Center".  They indicated they were offering an extended warranty on my car (they knew the year make and model).  Began asking about the current mileage.  When I explained I was in a meeting and what number could I contact them back on.. he hung up.

Called my cell phone, claiming to be representing "Vehicle Processing Center".  They clearly wanted to sell me an extended warranty on my car.  I warned them about unauthorized calls, since I am on the No-Call list.  I threatened to report them if I received any more calls.  Hopefully, that should be enough.

This number began texting me and now is calling me multiple times a day.  Not answering/responding.
