There was a posting in the Sunday Los Angeles Times employment section for a job as an stewardess for a private jet company, with this number posted as the contact number. A gentleman's voice wanted you to leave your name and phone number only. I was then contacted by the same person's voice who identified himself as Russel or "Russ" Walton wanting to know if I had any background experience in the restaurant industry, which I did, and then said he would call back the next day because if I were to qualify I would need to travel to Florida for the interview. He then called back and I was told I was to be contacted the next day for travel arrangements. He never gave me the name of the company but many other details which raised some suspicion w/ me.
I am very grateful for this warning I received because of these postings. Maybe the LA Times has some information regarding the person posting these ads that are meant only as a scam, targeting innocent people that are only looking for work. The ad was in the Sunday LA Times employment section on 3-16-08 if this helps. Additionally, if you were to call this number you could leave a name and number (would probably have to be a LA County area code) and I think he would call back. The number he uses to return your call comes up restricted on caller ID though. Hope this helps.

Spoke with Steve Gilbert @ 813-814-3890 in regards to "High Profile Security" Positions paying $975 weekly 4 dyas on 3 days off. Thanks to this website I found out about them before investing $269 for 1/2 the airfare to the interview, they promise that your half is to be refunded upon arrival and they are VERY VERY convincing. They are using Careerbuilder.com, thats how I found them.

I answered an ad for a supervisors job at #813-814-3876. I too, was told to leave only contact information. I was called back, on time, every time.  I assumed it was legit. I wired the $272.00 as requested.  Now I am out the $272.00 as well.  When is someone going to step up and do something about this?  Too many people are getting away with money that hard workers trust them with.  My wife's uncle is an FBI agent.  He has been contacted and is getting someone on this right away. My wife's father is a judge.  He knows people in Florida, California, and any other state you can think if.  They will get theirs. I can assure you.

I responded to an ad in the Sacramento Bee, tuesday, July 30.  It gave another number that was 813-814-3890.  Upon calling that number I was directed to 502-569-1778.  I too was told about a House Manager's job in Sacramento for a celebrity.  I was told to just leave my name and phone number, which I did.
Later got a call from this azzhole and played out the game. This really got me pissed. call your paper and report them, newspaper will take action..I did this as well as called FBI. 2 hours later these numbers are gone. lets get this guy  watch for next scam a hold newspaper responsable as well. They need to do a simple number check which would lead to this site to stop him......

I responded to an ad in the Union Tribune, Wednesday, July 30.  It gave another number that was 813-814-3890.  Upon calling that number I was directed to 502-569-1778.  I too was told about a House Manager's job in San Diego for a celebrity.  I was told to just leave my name and phone number, which I did.  I always research information, so I punched in the above phone number and discovered that it was being used as a scam to get people to send half of the airfare.  I am so glad I found your info.  Thought it sounded too good to be true.  What a shame.  It sounded like a great job.  What should I do if they call to tell me that I am being considered.  How do we stop these crooks.

I responded to an ad in the Akron Beacon Journal for a security officer position.  A recording picked up and gave a very detailed message about the job opening and said to leave contact info only.  After about 20 minutes the man on the machine called me back, which should raise flags because a secretary should be in charge of calls.  He said that they are a high profile security company for the rich and powerful.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT, I almost did.  Thank God for this website.  It will sound legit until he asks you to front half of a plane ticket to get you to the interview. $268      Remember if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.    He gave me the name STEVE BRADLEY

Everyone needs to call this number, and when the answering machine comes on, play music into it, and fill it up, so that no one else will get duped into this scam.  If it cuts off after a few minutes, call it back and continue to fill up the machine.

I hate scammers, and I will go out of my way to find the people that are doing this.

this site is awesome for having this on here. This is a total scam. I spoke with a Gentleman today about a possible opportunity as a bodyguard for the rich and powerful. Everything souded fine until I was asked to kick out a roughly 260$ air fare to Seattle, Washington. I didn't do this because instantly something didn't smell right. Any company worth working for in any field where traveling is involved will pay travel expenses in some fashion. Even the lower end companies will spring for at least a Greyhound ticket. The lesson of the day is to always do research before handing over cash for a service unseen.

on Monday 4/14/08 I replied to an employment ad in the (denver)postnews.  A Steve Maxwell called me back, but we played phone tag.  Eventually, we talked three times as he interviewed me.  He would always want to call me back, bacause he was "in the air."  When he mentioned an interview in Miami, Florida, friends and family started researching him, the company, and this phone number, while I asked him lots of questions.  I was told that I was among the final applicants that were asked to go to Miami, and that he would send info by mail as soon as the plans were confirmed.  A person was suppose to call me tonight, with travel arrangements, but maybe I asked too many questions.  Does anyone one know what law enforcement agency is looking into this?  The number is listed on whitepages.com for someone in louisville, kentucky.  Anyone wishing to pay the additional fee, through whitepages.com, will get the name of the person the phone number is billed to.

Steve Maxwell and Rita Bentley are the two contacts for a position posted for a "Food Server for a Jet Charter" in Colorado. Steve said this Charter is for the "Rich and Famous".  They wanted half the ticket around $267.00.  I told my Sister it was a scam and sounds like a scam.  I am glad I Google and found out this information.

There was a posting in the San Antonio Express News on Sunday, April 6, 2008, about a position for a flight attendant for a private jet service. I called the number and listened to a very detailed recording, and left only my name and number, just as the recording said. The same day I recieved a call from a man who called himself Dave Hamilton. He asked me if I had food service experience and I said yes. He said he would call me the next day for a phone interveiw. So, the next day I spoke and he called me back to say that the company had chosen me to fly to Seattle, Washington for a second interveiw. I put up half of the airfare, and was supposed to be re-embursed upon arrival. Today (4-10-08), I was supposed to recieve a call from Dave, as well as some paperwork in the mail. I recieved neither, so I called and left a message for Dave to call me. He still hasn't, and I just found out that I don't have a flight for Seattle tomorrow. So, I'm out almost 300 dollars. Also, I don't know if this will help, but I was supposed to interveiw with a lady named Lisa Meadows, and I sent my money to a guy in Orlando named James Ashe.

This number is linked to many many different high profile jobs around the country. Beware this is a scam. They will ask for you to put up 1/3 of your airfare to go interview for a job. They will tell you that the money will be refunded upon arrival. Once you wire money by western union they will break off all communications with you. We are currently working with authorities to indentify these people, and  prosecute. Some names used by these folks are Russ Walton, Thomas Page. Anyone with any additional information please post here.
