got a call at 10:41 am PDT on 3/18 as well.  Didn't answer it, no VM left.  Googled it and found this page.  Not gonna try calling them back.

505-217-2684 called my cell phone at 10:13 am central time on March 18, 2008 and left a message on my voice mail saying that I need to renew my car warranty. So is my cell phone going to get charged for this call? I thought this was illegal and they can be fined by the FCC. Weird how all these calls have been received on or about the same date. Same number called my Mother that day as well. These companies ask you for your Vehicle Identification Number, but I don't think they can do anything with your VIN, never the less I reported them to the state attorney general to investigate as this surely sounded like a scam.

I answered and they said that my cars warranty was about to expire...and asked if would i like to renew. I said "I have 2 cars which one are you talking about" he said, well if you give me your social i could tell you" of course I said "NO".....its a big scam

this number has called both my home phone and cell phone. Interestingly it leaves a message on my home phone answering machine ... car warranty about to expire ... right. I'd love to know how the scam works, since I foolishly answered my cell phone without looking first. Nuts! Live and learn ?

Rec'd call  on 3/17 at 4:15PM .... didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number.  What's with the cell phone sales calls,  I thought I was on 'do not call' !

I received a call from this number on 3/17, @7:42 PM.  I did not answer, and I did return the call with the same response saying that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.

Ha!  Glad I found this website.  I too just got a call from this no. and didn't answer.

got a call at 11;15 am mar 18 . I was on the phone with someone else so I ignored it . When I finished my call I checked to see if a voicemail was left , none was . ...   How can a disconnected phone be calling me ?( the phone trick?)

Scam artists. Automated voice mail warning me that my car warranty was about to expire. (The thing is 16 years-old and hasn't been under warranty in years.) I also got a postcard last week on the same topic - so there's more than just random dialing at work here.

Pushed "1" to talk to an operator to sell me something. Asked him to go on the do not call list. He said, "Stop yelling!" Dufus scam artists.

This unknown number called my cell phone....I did not pickup because where the hell is 505? I did not call it back....
