I just received a call for the 10th time. I am wondering if this has anything to do with Costco? That is where I got a new set of tires and after that is when these calls started.

Live in Lubbock TX - received this call too. Car warranty crap. Never have I purchased a car from a dealer, never have I financed I've always bought with cash.  This should be illegal and this operation should be taken down.  I just hope there are not people stupid enough to fall for this.

I confirmed with Nissan that these calls are indeed a scam.

1-505-986-8704 called 5:43 pm pst 12/01/08.   Car warranty scam.   They're using some poor saps phone number for their caller ID.  Cowards.   All my cars are older than dirt.  Go ahead and put a warranty on them.  Suckers.

I just wonder where the heck they are getting all these Cell numbers.

Has anyone here or future posters ever responded to a car for sale ad?  That is the ONLY legitimate way I can think of them getting my number.
There is a shady Los Angeles company that advertises cars at low prices and then does the bate and switch.  But only after they have your contact info.    They advertise through Ebay, Cars.com, auto ads and Craigslist.

This is a terrible... as if we dont have our hands full of existing worries.. why cant the phone company shut down this line... I wish there was a way for us to approach the phone company and curse them for having such weirdo clients... they called me at midnight EST - woke to listen "This is the 2nd notice...". These people will sure go to hell...

Calls my phone and my husband's cell phone and it is really irritating.  I don't answer it and they of course, do not leave a message.

These call comments don't mean a thing.  I'm getting these calls too and they need to be stopped or blocked.  Simply venting on this comment sheet is accomplishing nothing.  This too is a scam.

This is not the first time I have received phone calls about vehicle warranties

We just got our business line thru Vonage couple weeks ago and already their calling that line and to my knowledge its unlisted until we get the biz up and running. They've called my cell about a dozen times before this. I've never applied for credit, utilities or anything where they can get my number from. Those mules just hang up on me when i ask to be removed from their list each and every time. So irritating when you know your car is almost as old as you and they wanna sell you a warranty. Like this economy really has a budget for that... they need to get a real job!!!

This is another number with the same recorded message saying that my vehicle warranty is about to expire.  I have had SO MANY "2nd notices" I'm going crazy with this scam.  How can we get it to stop?

This time I actually listened to the entire message though, and if you press 1, you get to speak with a representative.  And if you press 2, you are removed from the "follow-up list."  I of course pressed 2, but we'll see what actually happens.

i began getting this message.  Seems to be company in pursuit of vehicle warranty coverage looking for (person who had my cel# before).  My personal paranoid theory is that the (person...) owes money and this is an attempt by collection agency to recover said money.  i did answer once and they asked for kevin someone, who i assume is the guy who used to have the number.  They said something about vehicle warranty.  I explained that i was not kevin, please update records to reflect this, do not call this number, my number.  Just got called again today...maybe i'll play along next time and see where that gets me.  They obviously do not want to play fair, so i don't mind lying.

no voice mail; no nothing. my husband's family is in new mexico so i worry if i see a call from there.  i have received other calls from a number in SD that is connected to vehicle warranties too.

Is there a special program I can install into my cell phone, one involving a certain tone that only triggers for solicitation calls -- that will destroy automation systems or cause live solicitors to drop dead from popped brain vessels?  That kind of thing would be Heaven sent.
