I read all these reviews when I got a missed call and no message. I was really debating on calling back but I  called them to see what the deal was. I got this airhead. So I hung up on her. I called back to see if I would get someone else and a lady transfered me to another woman christina and she told me I owed money to a doctor from a procedure I had. Ugh I swore I paid . She asked me if I knew when and such. Told her id get back to her. I hate medical bills, you get like 20 millions bills from all these places for one procedure and you cant keep track. I wish medical people just had one bill. Anyways I found out I didnt pay it. After reading these reviews I was really iffy to pay the collection place so I called my doctors office. They told me they have the account and i do need to pay the agency. I called back and spoke to christina again. I told her the doctor told me to call her and pay since i didnt pay yet. She took my payment. I asked about credit reporting because i dont want this on my credit and luckily she said i had time before it went on. I guess this place isnt really a scam. I moved so i didnt get all my bills. The first person was an idiot but the second person i talked to was nice. I guess it depends who you talk to there.

I'm guessing you were born with a silver spoon and have been taken care of your whole life by Mommy and Daddy's money. You should really think before you open your spoiled mouth. Due to this economy, people that never had to worry about money before are now in debt. I hate ignorant a$$holes like you!

So, I just got a call from these morons.  They called my cell phone, asked for someone else.  I asked who was calling, and was told it was TR Roberts and Associates (TR not Peter).  I advised the person they wanted to talk to wasn't me--not even close--and they laughed and said "Yeah, ok." and then said "Goodbye"--and called me by the other person's name.  WTF?  Are they really this stupid?  Like insinuating I'm a liar is really a good way to get my attention?!
Ridiculous.

Debt Collector
I have a similar story to most on this Peter Roberts & Associates.  My father is getting calls for me on his vm the problem is I moved out like almost a decade ago.  So anyone who has that phone number is actually scamming for something not earned.  If I owe anyone I usually pay, past collection problems are all solved prior to purchasing a house with my wife, sometimes it takes longer than others choose to pay.  Anyway I was a dc for a minute and if anyone has heard of the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, yes there is a federal law in place to protect you as a non bill paying citizen) and know anything about it you yourself can put a stop to harassing calls by simply stating:  "Cease and desist all debt collections activities."  If they don't then they are violating a portion of said act.  Even as intimidating as they seem over the phone line they are required by law to abide by the FDCPA or face $1,000.00 fine for any violation they perform.  Also, in MA it is illegal to speak to the spouse about the other spouses debt, another violation of the FDCPA.  It's a shame they made me study so hard to pass their test to become a debt collector because all I want to do now is tell others who have unfortunate situations come up and are unable to pay bills how to handle the douche nozzles who do nothing except act rude to people they have never met.  Oh yeah' they are taught to do the whole talk over you thing.  Having worked on the inside I know they have a theory about collectin debt.  It goes like this:  "If you get a debtor on the phone and you aren't getting through to them about paying their debt then simply put them on hold and yell "cross".  What this does is it means that some other schmuck is going to get on the phone with you and repeat the same thing you already heard from the first idiot only the theory is the second time you hear it you believe it regardless of how it sounds.  They have it all figured out before they call you, how to play you into their game.  If you follow my advice and tell them to stop calling then you will get kicked out to another debt collection place and the fun starts all over again.  One more thing, if anyone out there has what is called out of statute debt do not pay on it.  Out of statute debt refers to any debt that is so old it no longer shows up on your credit history, past 7 years.  Some debt collectors buy up this debt and try to get you to pay on it.  If you do then you reopen that debt for another 7 years from the last date you paid.  That is a scam.  Do not fall for it.  I hope this has helped anyone out there.  As for me and the Peter Roberts firm, they have no idea who they have called or the kind of fun I can have with them based on my knowledge of their industry.  When I finally get someone to talk to it's not going to be their finest moment to say the least.  Good night!

Finally returned the call and spoke to the exact person who left the message.  It's not a scam.  My insurance changed but my doctor billed the prior company and the claim was rejected.  Surprisingly, the doctor never followed up with me to send a statement in the mail.  I gave the person at Peter Roberts my new insurance information and that resolved the problem.  I had avoided 10 of their voicemails thinking it was a scam thanks to the deadbeats on these websites.

just because you fall behind on a debt DOES NOT make you a loser or live off the system. You ever think that they have fallen ILL??? they are still working while ILL, and has medical bills??? why don't you think before you "talk" about all people with collection issues "living off the system". I have been working since I was 15 years old. Never took a penny from the "system", and has a collection issue. YOU are quite ignorant

People who ACTUALLY pay their bills are thankful, people who care about their credit are thankful and people who don't live off the system and think everyone else is responsible for their debts are thankful.  Get a job and a life and then maybe you would understand being appreciative.

I did finally call back and talk to the person who called....and it was legitimate, a medical payment error. They gave me the information I need to call the company and correct the matter. It is in fact, not a scam at all.

Like the others on this post, I received a call from "Ken" at this number, saying that he needed to speak to me on a "personal" matter, about an uncollected bill. To my knowledge I don't owe any bills, and certainly would have received some collection notice in the mail if I did. His manner seemed odd, and unprofessional. He did say that he would have to "collect information". This is all on
call answering, and I'm very nervous about returning it.

Scam du Jour.  These people buy collection accounts and attempt to collect on bills already settled.

Look out!  They are on a fishing expedition !!

The message from "Mary" is clearly from the company itself.  Who speaks that way?  Who is thankful - her word - for collection calls?

This asshat tried to bully me on the only call I answered from Peter Roberts & Assoc Inc. He claims to represent a medical office I have never heard of, let alone patronized. I told him to have the medical office send a statement to me about the supposed charges. I am referring this "business" to the State's Attorney General's Offices in Massachusetts and my home state.

I received a collections letter addressed to my ex-husband. I called the number to give them the correct address and phone for the responsible party( ex-husband) The person gave his name as "Ken". When I attempted to explain the situation and give him the correct contact information he immediatly went into a speach, talking over me, saying "do the children live with you?" and on to "So you want us to go after your ex-husband for medical services the children received while they were living with you?" WHAT! I the called our physicains office to tell them about "Ken" and give them the correct contact information. It would seem that even thought This firm does business in the Commenwealth of Massachusetts, the are unaware of the laws of this state.

I got a call from a Ken from Peter Roberts and Associates from the same number. And I found them to be quite helpful. I found out I missed one of my bills. They told me Peter Roberts and Associates is the name of their firm and they assisted me in getting my insurance to pay a bill that came to them. I was thankful for their help. Because of this firm, Peter Roberts and Associates, I was able to take care of my bill before it affected my Credit.

He has been calling the home I grew up in, asking to speak to my "mother".  According to my father, he, Peter, states he is a friend of mine and that I owe him money.  Peter proceeds to solicit money from my family.  He also refuses to disclose why I owe him money.  I have never met this person and Peter is NO friend of mine!

appears it is a collection agency.
this Guy Peter Roberts identifies him self by name only but will not say who he represents. He is quite and 'overtalks' you. He has been told several times that the person he is looking for does not live here but continues to call anyway.
