Left no message. Just another annoying scam

Just sat down for dinner last night when they called.  No one on the phone when I answered.  I am settling my mother's estate and receiving calls from all over the country about her and have to answer, otherwise I would just let it go to machine.  I average 4 or 5 calls a day like this one.  Dead air.

I got the same recorded message after i answered the phone.  I usually don't answer "unknown name".  I am on the do not call list too.

Every 3-4 month I register on the DNC list but it doesn't do any good. I receive junk calls at least 5 to 8 per day. I screen my calls and don't pick up if I do not recognize the name or number. I get calls that say
"Boston", "Los Angeles", New York", " San Diego", etc. If I do pick up to tell them to stop bothering me, there is no one on the other end. I am a 76 year old widow; busy like heck with yard and garden work. It is so frustrating to have to drop everything, check the phone to see if it is one of my children calling or a friend. 510-778-7064 is calling about 3 times each day and pressing 5 does nothing. I even pressed 1 to tell them off but no one on the other end. They are there just to annoy you. So is 707-238-4098, sometimes they call 3 times a day, 8:00 A to 7:00 P. How can I block these calls before I go nuts.

Blame the phone Companys for allow anybody to abuse the use of phone numbers issued to them.Its all about greed on the phone companys part.The Irony is that the Phone companys charge you for blocking numbers that they charge for issueing to the Telemarketers and Scam callers.I would think the FCC could pass a bill in the legislature to hold Telephone Companys accountable for this abuse of phone numbers.

I get this senior citizen message almost every day from this number.  Read above its a scam. Wish they could be stopped. Annoying

Why would anyone answer an unknown long distance number?  If you do you are "doomed" to repeated calls. NEVER engage them in conversation!

VOIP phone service allows scammers all over the world to call us and they use a "spoofed" fake caller I.D. If you block one number they will just "spoof" another one. Many are in a foreign country.  Just ignore them.  And don't use  your name on answering machinge or voicemail. Just use your phone number,

They called Friday and today (Monday).  I answered neither call and they did not leave a message.  I have added them to my contacts list under the name "spammer" so that I know not to answer the call.

Same as all the prior posts. No use reporting to the Do Not Call Registry since they cannot do anything about this. What a waste of taxpayer $$. Perhaps they should contact the NSA to see where the call actually came from and take down these criminals (yes, they are criminals violating the law).

Robot call regarding "free senior citizens" medial alert system.  This was described on the news as a scam.  When I called the number back the recorded voice said the number was no longer in service.

 Started to leave a robo-call that began "Senior citizens". At that point I hung up. When I dialed the number to complain, I once again got a recording stating "This number is not in service". This seems like a not very well thought out prank call sent out by an adolescent mind.

This was the 5th call of this type I received today.  I did not answer this call or the other 4 calls.  It's become very annoying and can see that the "DO NOT CALL LIST" does no good.  The other calls were from Venezuela and the first one started at 6 am.The other 4 calls were from the following # +58 974?56.  Just putting that down for anyone else's information that might be interested.

Just received the exact same message transcribed by "deu",  Recommendation..don't press any number as they'll know they've caught a live one.  This number is now on my "block" list.

It is annoying that 510-778-7064 calls all the time but when I return the call, voice mail says, "This phone number has been disconnected."  How could this happen?  510-778-7064 can call but no one can return the call from that phone #?

This number called my home phone and immediately called my cell phone when I didn't pick up the home phone.  When I tried to call them back on the cell, the phone operator said this number was not valid.  They would not leave a message.  I get scam phone calls almost everyday.

left a message saying I could get 3000 thousand dollars worth of groceries.  Yeah right   The do not call list should stop this type of call

I get calls from this number on a daily bases.  They do not leave messages.
