I've received a call from this number, but didn't identify who they were collecting for and the call back number they gave me was an 866 number, which when I looked it up, has been used since at least 2012 and using similar messages and when some people called them, the person on the receiving end would not give any info until the caller gave them personal info. People threatened lawsuits and finally got a name, northeast credit & collections. Sometimes the caller would be told it was a wrong number.

So my question is this, why are they calling me and I don't have a Fingerhut account? The other thing is that I'm quite sure someone may have gotten a book with my name on it and ordered something but when I answer the call the phone just rings so I can't even tell the dummies that I don't have an account!!!

Dont pay anybody who tries to collect after the statue of limitations are up. you are no longer obligated to pay after the statue of limitations time has passed.  By talking to them and making even just one payment of 1 dollar you will have just reset the statue of limitations that is there trick. check this web sight and click on your state and it will show you how many years you have till it is not a legal debt anymore.

This is a debt collector calling. Not only for finger hit but for any company who have turned you over for legal issues on your account. If you ignore these calls then your account goes to an attorney in which could take you to court and garnish your wages or take other forms of action to make you pay the money you owe the company.

This is a debt collector for Fingerhut. I don't know why they are calling from home-based land lines, but they are.
