This is a company that is trying to collect on debts that are so far overdue that they legally can not do anything other than harass  you by calling and trying to convince you that you are legally bound to pay a debt that they legally can not collect upon unless you sign something accepting the debt again. They continue to call even after you ask them not to contact you anymore. My debt is 25 years old and was written off years ago yet they keep calling.

note I called this number back call Rick Perry or Glenn Beck lets solve this matter.  Lets find out what legal company will take this on.  This is wrong.  I'm from California and a true conservative.  I want freedom and liberty for all.  I will never become a Serf or slave to the Government.  Note this call said they were from a legal firm.

This caller calls at LEAST once a day.  The message says it is "Municipal Communications".  They leave the same irritating message every day.  I tried picking up once to ask to be removed from their caller list, but it is just a robo-call.   Here is the really bothersome part - I have blocked this number once already.  Now they are calling putting a 11 in front of the number, which means it bypasses the blocking software and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

They are trying to collect for probation fees from 10 years ago. I just laughed and told them, " Maybe you should put me in jail to pay. I could use the time of, free food and relaxation for a month or so. No wait, Its too late for that. Maybe you should attach my wages. Nope, I am retired on social security. Maybe you can take it out of my taxes. Oh, social security again. Well, maybe you can blow it out of your wazoo." She asked if I was finished. I said, " No". Burped loudly into the phone, said, "Now I'm finished", and hung up. They are blocked on my phone now.

I just got this new phone number and on the second day I had it this Gila Co started calling me twice a day, once in the morning and about 3 minutes before 9 at night.  One day I got my first call from them at 5 in the morning and the latest call I got from them was at 10:30 at night.  I finally called them and told them that this was a new number and if they kept calling me I would sue them for harassment and get in touch with our State Attorney General.  They have stopped calling me

received call from gala corporation from this number.  They are purporting  that there is some kind of legal action pending and I am to contact them,  I have no idea what they are calling me about and I have received three calls within the last three days. I do not want to call the number as I hear there is some type of scam going on and you can be charged money if you return that call.  I want them to stop calling

I have regularly been getting calls from this number for some months now. Sometimes my caller ID shows Gila Corp and sometimes it shows "unknown name", but the number is the same. When I had voice mail, they would not leave a message. Now I have shut down voice mail and simply do not answer. Unanswered calls go to my fax machine. If they want to contact me, all  they have to do is send a fax.

This type of problem usually starts with some financial institution, i.e. a bank or credit union or a loan company. When they get an unpaid debt and they can not contact the borrower, after a period of time, they "sell off the debt" to a collection agency. So the initial lender gets paid either all or a percentage of what they were owed. The collection agency can then either try and recover the debt or they can sub-contract the recovery out to other affiliated companies.  As a consequence, you can get calls from any number of collection agencies, all calling about the same debt.  The debt may not be yours, but it is for someone who gave your number as a contact number during the borrowing process.

In my case, I know now that my step-son gave our number as a contact number when he first borrowed  money. He did this without my knowledge or permission, however, that is the number on record.

Unfortunately, I also know that I could contact these people and talk until I am blue in the face and they will just say I am not being honest.  The action required on my part to unravel all this and get them to stop calling is unbelievable and in the end, it is easier to let their "electronic call system" talk to my "electronic fax system". If they ever want to get serious, all they have to do is contact me in writing.  After all, they now know my fax number and I am sure if they know my phone number they also know my mailing address. But the reality is, it is cheaper for collection agencies to use automated systems to make regular calls to the numbers they have on record in the hope that their "fishing expeditions" may sometimes get someone to "take the bait".

And just to finish, for all those who say, "but I just got a new phone/cell number", in most cases, the number you were given is not necessarily a "new number".  Phone companies do not generate a "new number" every time they open a new account.  They simply issue an old number from an account which has been closed for about 3 months. Some phone companies will tell you this, most will not.

this person has been calling me numerous times and harrassing me.  i read on the internet that it is a scam.  I take care of my elderly mother and this is an intrusion on our privacy.  please stop calling.

This is a collection agency that buys really old debt and tried to collect on it. REALLY OLD. They will buy stuff that is too old to even be on a credit report.

I am glad to have read this thread. I just brought a new cell phone. I live in Hawaii and never been anywhere except for Iowa (which I did not accummulate any bills). Brought the phone on Saturday, Monday I get a miss call from this number. Listened to the voicemail and it states that this is not a sales or marketing thing, it is a debt collection that could lead to a court case. My number is brand new and I will try and do a suggestion or two listed here. It is very disheartening that this is happening. Maybe this corporation believes that Hawaii is an easy target because we are seperated from the US (by water). Who knows. I will just ignore it all the same. Thanks guys!

I have received many calls from this # stating that I have an oustanding court case and bill for $216.00 in Texas.  Funny thing is, I am 17, never been out of the state of Colorado, and don't even have a driver license, nor do I drive any type of vehicle and have NEVER received a ticket.  Not sure what kind of scam this is, but if they want anything from me, they are going to have to prove it and prove me with documentation.  I would love to know how to pursue harrassment charges against this company.  P.S., they have a BBB accredidation, but have over 100 compaints filed against them.  With 100 complaints, how is this still on the BBB accredited list?

I am on the do not call list for this number but they keep calling back..this is a trackphone so whoever had this number before me had this number call them..I want it stopped..

I get a call from this number 1 to 2 times a day about a court matter also. I dont owe anyone anything and I have never had problems or been in trouble with the law. Im so tired of their calls and voicemails.

Collection agency for the courts. FYI, if they are calling you and you don't believe you have any outstanding tickets or court cases, your information may be mixed up with someone else's records. Complain and ignore these calls all you want, but when you're held for several hours for someone else's warrants, you may wish you took that phone call and cleared this up beforehand.

I've received 2 messages now within 2 days to call regarding an urgent court matter.  I have no outstanding credit issues or tickets.  It does leave a toll free number, but I'm extremely hesistant to call.

They call me several times a day, all week long, even on Sundays and holidays. They never leave a message and the one time I did answer they said I had a court matter and they were trying to collect. HA I think not

Received call on a Sunday (2/5/2012) from GilaCorp, automated voice of a man, clear English states, "This is not a solicitation or a sales marketing call, please return this call concerning an urgent financial matter".....uh, yeah, right away! NOT!

We have been receiving these messages regarding an urgent court matter for some time.  I have no idea where they come from or why and have not called them back.

hang up and dial *57.   It traces the call and after 3 calls the phone company will send them a letter ordering them to cease.
