Somebody is calling me for months twice a week from #512-646-0018.

I got a call today from 512-646-0018 requesting donations for AmVetsNFS.  When I said I don't give over the phone to charities I don't know he gave me the website address, told me to check them out on Charity Navigator, which I did, but suggested I NOT given online at www.AmVetsNFS.org because my donation would be going to Maryland rather than staying here in Austin Tx

I received a call to my supervisor, who was out, from Retired Sargeant Nathan _____ saying he was collecting for assistance to veterans. He mentioned that he had just spoken to another fellow who questioned his service and made him so mad he wanted to reach through the phone and ring his neck. I'm sure some of the donations they collect go to the vets but this appeared to be a pressure/scare tactic that I want no part of.  Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of not answering his next call. Guess I'll try my standard polite "no thank you, please remove our name from your call list."

Caller identifies himself as Dean w/American Veterans. Acts as though he knows person he asks for and yet he is soliciting for funds.

I received a call from 5126460018, the gentleman stated his name was Les with Amvets and was asking for a donation.  I agreed and he said he would have it picked up.  They were going to pick up the check on Friday, it's now Wed. they never showed.  I called Amvets national number and found out there is no donation center her in Austin, TX.  Scam!!!

I called the AMVETS office in Dallas and spoke with a very nice (and competent) women on staff there. There is actually a company in Austin "something and Moore" (thus the name C Moore on the caller ID.) It is a 3rd party telemarketing organization that apparently does collect for both AMVETS and the Shriners. Although folks do/can work from their home or call from a callcenter, these are both legitimate causes. I am not clear about how much of what is collected goes to AMVETS or the Shriners but the money is collected on their behalf. Given all the information in the news about fraudulent collecting (for the police and sheriff's associations, I wanted to investigate a bit. So that phone number is actually a sanctioned number collecting for AMVETS to some extent.

I called them back and they answered - it's a scam call center for sure! I asked them to take me off their call list and they were very rude.

best thing to do is never answer the phone from a number we don't recognize - they will go away eventually when they get tired of being ignored.

Since he was rude and hung up, randomly call him back to annoy him....dial *67 first to hide your number.
Preferably late at night. lol

I also was completely scammed by this C. Moore person. I made a $35 donation made payable to Austin AmVets, and was told they would leave a receipt under my doormat. I got a sticker instead. When I tried to call the number back to ask about a receipt, nobody answer, and there is no answering service. TOTAL SCAM!

Got two calls at 8 pm and 9 pm from this number and named L Jones.  Left no message.  Strange to get this kind of call on a Sunday evening. Glad I looked up the number.

Definitely a scam.

I called AMVETS and they said they have no one in Austin and would never ask someone to do that or make a check out to Austin AMVETS.

They used to call be frequently in the past under C Moore, now the called ID says L Jones.  Didn't pick up but they left some general chatter mssg.

Name and person changed again. Now it was a female who said her name was sgt. something and she was collecting for the police. I never deal with these 3rd party pariah.

The name has changed to Darrell Mitchell, calling for AmVets (and donations are tax deductible). I think the guy just dials for dollars for any organization that pays him to do so. I've had calls from the same number collecting for the Shriners.

I couldn't donate anything right now anyway, so I've not tried to find out if any of it's legit.

I had a message on my voice mail from this number.  The caller was a male and said his name was Captin Pet Miller and he was calling for the Veterans.  He gave this number to call him back.

Does not leave a message...

I have received several calls from this number.  Person is "Pete Miller"-He refuses to give any infomation other than its personal.  I refuse to transfer his calls.

Whatever organization he is representing needs to be aware of his tactics.

512-646-0018 called, left message, "Hi, Gayle, this is Jennifer, can you give me a call?"
I know several Jennifers so was perplexed...this calling person wanted me to think she was a friend of mine...apparently, it is a number (caller ID says "Newell, D) the Shriners are using to solicit donations.

Rude, Rude, Rude ,,,Scam artest a hole

I've gotten called twice today. No message was left either time. This caller id
is different this time. Do not have any other info since we did not answer.

A fellow named Jack calls from this number several times per week asking for my manager. He refuses to leave a message every time. I have had him contact our office up to 4 times in a single day. I finally learned that he is collecting donations for the Shriners. Although we have expressed our dissatisfaction with the number of calls and made it clear we wouldn't be supporting the Shriners because of this, we are still receiving calls! Not only is this irritating, but it is wasting valuable time and resources at our business. I hope the Shriners come to their senses and stop using such aggressive and unprofessional people to badger donations out of people.

I also got the call. These folks seem to know the street address and name also.
Is there a way to report this number for unsolicited call ?.

this fool called my house and woke the baby up after i had spent all night with him trying to get him to sleep, then i get a stupid call from this character at 9 am..so much for sleeping in

I recieved a call from someone claiming to represent the Shriners. They said the Shriners are asking for support to send under privileged kids to the Austin Circus. When I said I would donate the person got very excited and told me to make a check out and leave under my door mat. They said a courier would be by to pick it up and a reciept and thank you mailed to me. I said would not leave a check under my door matt and is there a website. A supervisor came on in seconds claiming my rep was new. I could mail the money to an address. When I questioned why no mail or website he got defensive. Sounds like scam. Does not have website cause it can be traced and if they have you mail it and it is scam mail fraud. I would not trust this number at all.

this number is a charlie moore calling from the american veterans assoc. the person he called for wasn't here, so i took the information for a message, and then he got angry at me, called me a flake, and hung up on me! jerk!
