I got a call from a Gary Baker from Divison 203 stating that I was under investagation due to money i owed to an online payday loan which I paid. Dont trust him

This person is a fraud and not from the law firm of Joseph & Joseph. We have contacted the FBI, the Ohio Attorney General and the office responsible for the unauthorized practice of law. He is using this Cincinnati telephone number. Our offices are in Columbus Ohio. Do not be duped by him.

they dont work for joseph and joseph i called and talked to the guy that owns that law firm and he said he has called the fbi and fcc on them

The caller stated I was listed as an emergency contact of a person named Debbie Smith.  I do not know a Debbie Smith.  He then proceeded to explain that he was part of an ongoing investigation and that either I or my legal counsel could return his call.

He gave his name as Gary Baker and that he was with Division 203.  Along with this vague information, he stressed the importance of a return call.

Gary Baker called me this afternoon and proceeded to tell me that I was going to be arrested by tomorrow and when I told him to contact my lawyer he called me a loser and told me I can go F*** off!  It's a SCAM PEOPLE!

I also recieved a call from Gary Baker on the 17th of May. He said I had 2 cases against my name in the state of IA, and if i did not get something taken care of today he was going to dispatch police to my home or place of employment to arrest me.  As you can all see i am STILL free as no police would ever arrest someone for an outstanding debt. I asked him what company he worked for and he said Joseph and Joseph LPA in Columbus, OH.  This man's phone number is out of Cincinnati, OH.  After I was bored listening to his unprofessionalism and constant smoke screens, I told him that he didn't sound too legitimate and that I would be doing some research regarding this.  He hung up on me.  I googled Joseph and Joseph LPA and talked to the receptionist and the attorney John Joseph.  They have NO GARY BAKER working at that law firm and they are very upset that someone would use their name for this kind of scam.  Please be aware and do not agree to pay anything.  Please note...Gary Baker does have personal information on the people that he is calling and is trying to use that info to appear as a valid debt collector.  He may also say he has your banking information and that it was subpeonaed. That is a lie.  When asked if he could send me a copy of the loan documentations i allegedly signed, he could not and wanted my attorney to contact him as he has more than enough evidence to have me arrested that day.  As you can see that is also a lie.  I have reported this to the IA Attorney Generals Ofc as well as the one in OHIO.  I hope someone sends a cop car out to Mr. Baker's home and arrest him!

He proceeds to tell me that it wasn't going to be covered. I called my lawyer, they called Gary Baker back he then hung up on them Please do not get upset like I did. IT IS A SCAM!! The original company that he is claiming to be working with is investaging him as wel speak due to me calling them

You're full of it! You probably work for this company and are attempting to strike fear into the hearts of people who may or may not have an outstanding debt! I have been getting calls for some person who is not related to me for over 8 years. I've been threatened with arrest and just laughed at them. Do you know how many people would be in jail right now if the police started arresting them for outstanding debts?! Nothing you say rings true! If you wrote a bad check/draft/money order, then yes, you could and SHOULD be arrested as this is FRAUD. This is not the same as having an outstanding debt that a person cannot at this point and time repay. There was a TV program on a year ago about hard core collection agencies using guerilla type tactics to collect a debt. They were fined MILLIONS of dollars. If a person owes money on a credit card, house, car, whatever, try your best to work with your debtor to get a payment plan in place. Do everything you can to AVOID having to deal with a collection agency. Once they gain a foothold they'll try to suck you dry.

What kills me was the way he answered the phone.. no business sense , no identification of the debt collector he worked for AND after speaking to an attorney what he was doing is AGAINS THE LAW!

They called my father, too. He hung up on me 100 times, too. Suppose this is real? How would we know when they'll speak to our fathers, but not tell us what it's about?

This person called my dad and stated I was going to be arrested .  However when I called him back he ordered dispatch to arrest me at the airport .. I have no outstanding loans
no bills besides the ordinary current bills ..  When I pressed him about what this hung up on me
I told him he was a scan artist and i'm calling the police .. he hung up on me again!!!

Now most professional companies would have identified the company they work for
INSTEAD HE HUNG UP ON ME ..  So now i'm lodging a complaint

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS COMPANY AND I WAS ARESTED THE NEXT DAY ON A LOAN I TOOK OUT

when we called this company back they informed my husband they were a fraudulent claims company and were processing felonies on him due to overdue loans.
they said he had (at that time) 2 hours to turn himself in, or he would be arrested. they had all his info, addy, work place etc.
