It is a call-back from Microsoft to follow up on a problem I called them about yesterday. I wasn't expecting a call back and didn't answer it since I did not recognize the number - it came in as a call from Ohio. They did leave a message stating that they would send me an email with contact information to call them again to resolve the issue. They said yesterday that the issue could not be resolved so maybe they forwarded it to someone else who was able to find a solution. That would be great and I'd be a happy camper instead of an extremely disappointed customer.

It is from Microsoft and if you have an existing ticket in regards to a problem with Windows, this is what it is.

Received a call from this number on my cellphone. Don't know where it's coming from.
Hezzo 2012-12-15 16:51:19 Unknown
Are you absolutely sure? I contacted Microsoft and they told me that they don't do that! So hopefully you didn't give them info!

I contacted what I thought was a Microsoft tech support at 1-877-238-7147 and after they Fixed what I told them was the problem on our computer we received a call from 513-698-1051 over the course of a few hours. We don't answer long distance numbers we don't recognize. We then received another call from this number at 12:13 in the morning. So I called Microsoft. This is not a number associated with Microsoft. Microsoft says they will not call you, you have to call them, and afterwords they do not call you after they help you! Be Careful this could be a scam.

Agreed!

Not true! It certainly IS Microsoft support. I opened a ticket with MS yesterday and received 2 call-backs; one yesterday, the second today from 513-698-1051. The supervisor calling knew exactly what my ticket was about so I know it's legitimate.

The problem is when they called me and left a message for me to give them a timeline to call back I couldn't even understand what they were saying in the message. How was i supposed to hold the phone, try to figure out what they were saying and also try to follow the instructions to work on the computer when I didn't even know what they were saying. This is not prejudice it is almost impossible for some people.

got a call 2-3 times from this number, always late at night. they left a voicemail this time. Indian guy from "microsoft" trying to get in contact with me. There's no reason microsoft should be contacting me. Definitely a scam.

Microsoft support ... I wasn't expecting a call based on earlier e-mail correspondence. I would have been happy to talk to the guy anyway if HE HADN'T CALLED AT 23:45 EDT!!

Yes, I have received a call from this number.
I do not recall talking with anyone at this number.
The minutes used show up on my cell phone bill.
I have since registered with the National Do NOt Call Registry.
Have also done this for no. 706-410-0602.
Kirsten 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Yup, it's Microsoft returning the tech call.

This is definitely Microsoft Support. I paid for support at one point, when i was having trouble with my computer and the support technician took my phone number and said he would call back a few days later to follow up and make sure the problem was completely resolved. When that same technician called back, the call came from this number. I wasn't home, but he left a message. It was the same guy who helped me originally when I was the one who initiated contact.

On the phone with the 800 Number on Friday 4/1 (no April Fools joke) for two hours but unable to find the on line solution to my IE8 problem. Finally determined that I needed a Windows 7 reinstall disk which they promise to send to me this week. Got a call from the number on Sunday 4/3 to find out if I was pleased with the Fri technician. Seems legitimate. Said he was a floating supervisor to check on technician service.

It was Microsoft "Support", calling to find out if my issue was resolved. It wasn't, and when I told them that I hadn't been able to resolve my product activation issue after multiple calls to support, they hung up on me. Support - what a joke.

This is definitely Microsoft Tech Support from India. I spent several hours over several days with this support supervisor. He takes a lot of the escalated calls. Having been in tech support, I understand that calls can take longer than thought and that would be why the scheduled call was missed. Understand they can have dozens of open cases they are working on at that level and have to keep up and schedule them the best they can to give the quickest service to everyone.
And, though it is awkward, if you are dealing with someone you can't understand, simply say you can't understand that word they are saying and ask them to spell it. Another option is that they can use messaging while they are working with you where you type back and forth. I actually prefer this method. It eliminates awkward silence as they work on your system and leaves me to work on other things in between discussions.

It is really microsoft tech support
I have been on the phone with many times over the past 4 days as they try to fix Windows Media Center

It's Microsoft Support. And yes, from India.
I was on the phone with a support tech from MS for five, thats right, five hours yesterday. Finally, I couldn't take anymore of it, and told them to call me back when they had a real solution to my problem. They told me they would call me back the next day (Saturday... today) between the hours of 5 and 6 pm EST in the US whether they had the solution or not. I asked them if they were REALLY going to call me back because it was unfortunate to have to break my saturday up by being home at that hour. They insisted they would call me back then. And of course, 6 o'clock came and they didn't call. Thats the THIRD time a Microsoft technician gave me a specific time they said they would call back and then never did. What a joke. They actually did finally call at 6:50. But they called on my cell phone which was turned off, even though I adamantly told them to only call me on my landline. So yes, the phone number is legitimate. Definitely Microsoft tech support. For whatever its worth. Which in my case turns out to have been very little.

I got a call and the gentleman knew of an actual Microsoft problem ticket. He spent time on the phone and tried helping me fix Outlook. How can you we sure whether this was a scam/phishing experience or not ???
parkergal 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
I'm pretty sure this is Microsoft Support from overseas calling, however they don't leave a message probably becuase they won't be understood. They call kinda late, too. They keep sending me emails so I finally told the guy thank you that the problem was solved. I reported his email as SPAM so I don't keep getting his emails even though the problem was resolved. Give it a rest!

I had a 'chat' with microsoft technical support on 3/28/09 and they couldn't help me online, she said someone would "call me". On March 30, 09, I get a call from (513) 698-1051, and the guy is from New Delhi(sp?), India. I was on the phone with him for over 45 min's. I received an email message from: WINDO.WNXP.NA.OO.EN.CVG.GUR.TS.2ET.PBA.OO.PI@css.one.microsoft.com with his name, and he said I could contact his "Manager", gave his name and email address: v-2geva@mssupport.microsoft.com and a voicemail #.
He was very hard to understand. He is suppose to call back later today. He helped me re-install Windows XP, but I still have a problem.

Microsoft Technical Support -- India
George 2011-06-06 20:50:33 Unknown
Received a call from Microsoft Support - at least that is how the caller identified himself. I was having a problem with Microsoft and had been in touch with Microsoft both by email and live chat on and off for several weeks. Even though I had not made a special request, the phone call seemed like a normal follow-up on their part. The caller sounded East Indian, but I could not make out his name - not easy to understand and I had already asked him to repeat himself so many times, I didn't have the heart or patience to make him spell out his name and get into the family history etc...
An apointment was made for a two hour block on Tuesday 23 December for a technical phone call from Microsoft to solve my ongoing problem with XP SP3, but the confirming email promised and the ensuing phone call from Microsoft on 23 Dec never came. Naturally, one wonders if this was a scam in the making or just a lapse on the part of the Microsoft folks.

Microsoft Support Services - don't be fooled by the Cincinnati, OH area code... they are usually calling from India.
