They call repeatedly at all hours...

Got a call from this number in the Greater Toronto Area..
They didn't leave a message

They determine if this is an active number depending if you answer or not, then magically you get a telemarketing call from another number if you have answered.  Physhing for personal information and credit card numbers.  Nigerian scammers.

I suspect that auto hang-up means you have received the call as far as your 'phone company is concerned and you will be charged for the call and with tthe huge number of nuisance calls that can add up.
If you can select a ring based on group, why not put all nuisance callers into a "Nuisance" group and make the ring for that group "silent" instead of using auto-block?

Yeah, they started to bother me, too.
I got a new Panasonic Dect 6.0 phone that blocks all unidentified / unavailable phone numbers by automatically hanging up on them. No more hassle.

They phone every two days. I answer and nobody talk.
