Just received a call from this number on my cell phone (registered on the Do Not Call list).  I was unable to take the call and deferred it.  When I tried to call back, I received a message saying that the number had been disconnected & was no longer is service.

David from Vehicle Processing Center just called.  I've been seeing this number on my caller id a lot.  I finally decided to take it.  "David" asked about my car and then I asked "David" were this Vehicle Processing Center was located.  He claimed California yet it's a local number for me.  I said, "This is coming up as a local number and I don't live in California.  Where are you REALLY calling from?"  He stuttered, "Yes ma'am" and promptly hung up.  

I really hate it when they hang up on me.  It totally RUINS all of the fun I could have had.

I only answered this call once, The guy identified himself as Lawrence from the vehicle department.
But I could hardly understand his English.  He sounded East Indian or Pakistani.
I hung up but continue to get these calls, but only on my land line.

I have been receiving calls from this same number; only my phone doesn't even ring and it goes right into my missed calls.  In doing a reverse phone lookup, the number shows as a business in Charlotte, MI, however, when I tried to call the number, I get a recording saying that they are currently closed; their hours are from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Pacific time and yet the phone number is a '517' area code.  And even when I call between these hours according to 'Pacific time', I still get the same recording.

I did receive a call once saying that my warranty was expiring on my call, however, the car he referred to wasn't even the current car I own, so they are getting the information from some other source.  I have to believe this is strictly a scam.

Received a call on my land line from a woman that spoke poor English. She said that the warranty for my car had expired (or was about to expire). She knew the year and make of my car, but wanted to know my car's mileage. I have had these types of calls in the past and have told them I was not interested in buying any extended warranty for my car, and asked them to take my name off of there list. I told the woman to stop calling me and hung up. Later that evening she called me again. But hung up after I answered the phone. My caller ID only gave caller's phone # and that it was a Cellular Caller. Not sure if this is a SCAM or valid call. Since she called again on the same day & hung up without saying anything, I am inclined to suspect that this is some type of warranty or credit card SCAM.
