I am glad I got my 3000 before the FBI took over I am entitled to that money. Why didnt you find out why you were not eligible for the money, everyone I know got their money. Unless it went to child support or some other debt, then i would be pissed too.

The people that orchestrated this scam are Tapera and Callista Chiwocha.  They are Africans.  On November 30, 2011, theses two had their home raided, not long after a relative by the name of Tsiidzoyedu Chiwocha was arrested in Memphis from scamming citizens in front of a government building.  Please google these people.  They use a bogus business address and name.  Human Services, LLC at 711 Merrill Drive in Lansing.  This was actually a Verizon cell phone number, I believe prepay so they registered the phone under the name Harold Butcher.  (517-643-5106) was the number that most citizens here in Alexandria, LA called for stimulus money that did not exist.  sad how they targeted the elderly and low icome for personal gains.  These people were buying luxury cars, making expensive changes to their home, and doing serious landscaping on their property.

And it's still going on.  A friend called last night to give me this number (517-643-5106) and I spoke to a young lady who had a mouth full of something and she told me that you only qualify if you haven't filed your 2010 income taxes.  This is so old.  Over 10 years ago they ran this scam stating "the government may owe you money."  The only people that could apply was the ones who didn't file.  Don't forget people, you must have some type of income to file taxes.  I wonder what they put down on your tax return.  If you do this, contact the IRS to get a copy of the taxes that were filed.  This money does not belong to you.  It was fraudulently established.

This was issued on our local news about this number.
RAYVILLE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Another phone scam has been reported, this time in the Rayville area.

Elderly people in Rayville are apparently being targeted by bogus phone calls where callers attempt to get personal information from them.

During the call, the victim is told that their Social Security number is needed, because--if they do not owe child support,  did not file a tax return, do not have a student loan, or if they are not getting an income tax refund they will receive a $400.00 Check.

The BBB has researched the number and it is a Cell Phone out of Michigan, the number is 517-643-5106. Apparently when this number is called, there is no answer just a recording saying that the mail box is full.

A reminder that you should NEVER give out ANY personal information such as Social Security or driver's license numbers, or any other personal information to anyone calling you "out of the blue". The same goes for emails, regular postal service mail, or just someone who you do not know who appears at your door.

I had to threaten to call the IRS and have the IRS reissue the refund check before they gave my friend her check.  Then when they did give the check, it was a hand written check from them, instead of a check from the IRS.  Supposedly they are in the business of filing your returns and getting you the $400 tax credit, yet you had to fight to get your refund.  They kept saying it was already in the mail and even claiming that someone stole the mail.

They target low income, homeless and near-homeless people who are ignorant on how to fight this, hoping that most will never know what to do about it.  I had to call on my friend's behalf and basically "strongly hinted" that I knew who exactly to contact to get them in trouble.  My friend's ghetto screaming at them was not working, obviously.  But my cooler approach stating that we would just go directly to the IRS and request they cancel the first check and reissue a new one got their attention.  After months of delays, the check finally arrived a week after my phone call.  (My friend called many times but her ghetto attitude got her nowhere, which my ghetto friend was too ignorant to understand.)

Again, they target ghetto rats, homeless, near-homeless, disabled, or anyone who they think is too ignorant to fight back when the money does not arrive.

Luwanda-
I am giving you the toll-free number for Social Security: (800)772-1213. They open at 9:00 AM. Call them first thing Monday morning and they will help you.
You're right, you did get scammed. NEVER give this information to ANYONE-they can use it for ID theft. If this just happened, the scammer can't use your information until business hours, so you might be able to stop them in time before anything bad happens.
I hope everything goes OK.

I was given this number and told to call it.  When I looked up the number it was from florida, but it does not say what company it is.  There are suppose to be given away $400 checks to those who do not owe child support, did not file 2010 tax return, and do not have student loans.
