Just got a call from this number - claimed they were representing Paralyzed Veterans, I asked to be put on their do not call list and they claimed they were exempt from that requirement but offered to remove me anyway.  Sounds very fishy to me.

let it ring 4 times then hang up, (funny though I have a machine which I recently changed the number of rings to answer on from 4 to 6).

No message left.

May God and/or FBI/FCC stop the nonsense!

The problem is most of the time you can't block long distance calls.

Mine said it was from Lansing, MI.  I don't ever pick up calls who don't identify themselves.  Lansing, MI don't cut it.

Receiving calls from this number at odd hours-they do not leave messages-start taking pics of caller I.D. showing number and time-will file a complaint with FCC.

Verizon does have a phone service called Verizon Voice.  I just switched to that and I can now block up to 10 calls online when I log in.  Call them and ask about it.

They called and the call waiting interrupted while I was on the phone with my vet who called about my critically ill dog. I am so sick and tired of unrelenting calls from unknown numbers! I think they get my # from contests or surveys online. Cannot fathom how these creeps make money with these calls, who talks to them?

I GOT THE CALL FROM 517-679-0758.    NOW WHEN I SEE THESE CALLS COMING IN, I PUT THE PHONE ON, AND IMMEDIATELY OFF.      WE CAN'T TAKE A NAP OR EVEN BE SICK, OR SLEEP IN ON A WEEK END.       THEY INTERRUPT OUR LIFE, AND OUR PEACE & QUIET.      CITIZENS NEED TO GET GOV INVOLVED AS MUCH AS I HATE THAT IDEA.      CALLS COME FROM 734/ 408/ 618 AND OTHER AREA CODES.      IT IS GETTING RIDICULOUS.

THERE SHOULD BE LAWS AGAINST THIS---SPECIFICALLY -----NO CALL-----FROM THESE SOLICITATION COMPANIES.    MAYBE IT IS ALSO TIME TO CHARITY'S CALLS THAT COME DIRECTLY FROM THEIR ORGANIZATIONS ALSO.

THESE ARE TOTALLY A INVASION OF PRIVACY, AND THE CALLS COME AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIMES.

who is calling from 517-679-0758.  We are getting more & more of these unwanted, harassing calls.

I have been receiving calls from this number plus many more and they are coming out of Michigan.  They call nearly every day and some times two or three times a day.  With all the above mentioned tactics.  The DNC lisitng apparently has been "deregulated" like so many things that protect the general public.  Next is filing a report with the police.  Many times it is credit card scammers--I don't have credit cards.

Really getting upset with these freeloading annoying pests.  Could be they are checking to see if you are home and next you find your place robbed.  Can't see how else they can scam any money from us.

Have gotten numerous calls, so this time I told them not to call here anymore or I will report them to the Michigan No Call List. They are a pest.

I keep getting calls from 517 679 0758.  They never leave a msg. and their line is always busy when I try to take my name off their list.

Yay!  A lovely weekend day interrupted again by telemarketers who never heard of the do not call registry.

When telemarketers bother me, I make sure to take up some of their time. They have taken up some of my time by calling me, unasked. Also when they say to press two to be removed from this list, it does not do that, it just ends the call so you are no longer tying up their lines. So always push one even if you just set the phone down.  Or have a little fun with them and tell them crazy things (just don't get to bad or you may end up with the cops at your door!)

They just called, let it ring once, then hung up before I could answer.  The area code is one county over from me, so I assumed it was a legitimate local company until I came here and read the posts.  

If these people are soliciting for a "charity", they got my number a few weeks ago when I was awakened early one morning and didn't check the caller ID before answering.  Those people immediately shared my number with a bunch of other scammers because by me answering, it confirmed that the number was good.

If they are bill collectors, it's from one doctor's office who just sent me a letter stating they are sending my account to collection.  I "owe" $43.17.  I sent payment to them over a year ago and they applied it to the wrong account, then kept sending me bills.  I called 5 times trying to explain that they had applied the payment to an account that wasn't mine, but they refused to look into it.  I just filed all the subsequent bills with my proof of payment for when the inevitable collection calls start.

Stupid f****ng marketing scam for "charities."  If they were reputable, they wouldn't need these f****ng losers!

Someone apologized for calling me on xmas eve but they only had 50 kids left on their list to fulfill wishes for for some charity and wanted me to donate to help fulfill their wishes. I declined. I've never heard of their organization.

I answered the phone "Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?" and hung up. They didn't call again.

They said they were calling for the terminally ill children.

are they legimate.  Lansing Michigan.

They call me several times a week.  I told them I am not interested 3 times in the conversation and still hung up on them because they wouldn't take no for an answer.  It is the Cancer Society, they won't take no as an answer.  It's a hell of a time of year to be asking broke people for money, isn't it?  Anyway, I don't answer the phone anymore even though they have called 3 times in the last 24 hours.  I am seriously thinking about switching my number.

Received 2 calls (11/28/11 & 11/29/11), both at approximately same time in the morning.  Didn't answer. Phone only rang 3 times then they hung up.

Got a call from 517-679-0758.  Caller ID indicateed Lansing, MI.  Caller said they were calling on behalf of the "Terminally Ill Children's Fund".  Sounded similar to Make-Wish Foundation.  No sign of them in a google search for an organization of that name.

Who is your carrier?

I tried to find out how I could do that with Verizon and they said they no longer offer that service.

If your carrier offers the service and I can get to them I will switch!
