Got a call from this number 520 838 9998 alluding to some $2600 award for me. When prompted to select option, the guy with funny accent (not AZ) started with the interrogation about age and C Card....He hung up when I asked for MY money.

Got a call from this number 520-838-9998. I didn't answer because the call ID said Unknown Name or Unknown Caller. The unknown caller did not leave a message. I also get get lots of calls from Caller ID CW 562-224-4255 on a regular basis. Sometimes twice to three times a day. I never answer that call either because I don't recognize the number. However, that number never leaves a message either. It's so very frustrating to be interrupted by callers who stay silent and or just hang up after you pick up. I'm on the do not call list but that never seems to work. They continue to call. Nothing I can do but just ignore the calls.

Call your phone company and ask if they will block it. If the calls are to your smartpnone, look on your app icon screen for Google Play (Android) or the App Store (IPhone) and search for free call-blockers. If you have an Android phone and live in the US, the Mr. Number app blocks spam calls, unwanted calls and texts. I have it and it works great.
If you have a pre-paid plan, chances are your phone company won't block the calls, so I would suggest turning off the phone at bedtime or getting your number changed.
Best wishes-I hope that helped.

Was called from this number at 2:30 PM 6/11/09. Picked up after one signal, someone clearly just hung up and then an automatic voice was activated giving a message in Spanish.

call the number back, press one during the message and then it will ask you to put in your number to be removed from calling list.

This is getting old....any chance one can get themselves removed from this calling list with out confirming one's phone number is valid?

Got the call, but didn't answer. This happens a lot, getting calls from unknowns, so I always ignore them, but I check them with Google, and sure enough, all of them have been scams. I'm guessing, but I think it's automated calling. Start with an area code and prefix, then go 0001, 0002, 0003...up to 9999.
Always let unknown numbers go unanswered, then google them. In one instance I know of, the caller does somehow have your name AND VISA #!!!, and when they ask "Hello, is this (Your name)?" DO NOT say "Yes" or anything that can be manipulated as an affirmative. Those scammers will insert them in recordings as "proof" of your order and bill your card, but you will never receive the stuffed teddy bears or dildos or whatever they're supposedly peddling. Never happened to me 'cuz I was smart enough to Google the numbers.
Good luck fellow cell phone users...the wolves are out there!
