Do a *67 to block caller id and call the scammers back ...

I got call also. Scared me half to death. What is this?

I had to Google this number because we've been called two days in a row. Yesterday they called and left a message saying that something is wrong with our taxes and to call back immediately and when we did, it didn't even go through. We figured out quickly that it was a scam. But they called repeatedly today and I finally picked up angrily telling them to stop calling. The guy with the heavy accent angrily said it was his first time calling and I said it wasn't and I hung up on him again.

He claims to be with the "Internal Revenue Service department." He warns that I should not ignore the warning or there will be "legal allegations."

I'm looking for an IRS fraud division to report this to. It's illegal to impersonate an IRS agent

How do you report these people I just received a phone call too from them and when i called the extension they gave me another man with a heavy indian accent answered and starting threatening me with law suit and wanted to know immediately if I had a lawyer when i told him i was going to sue him for harassment for scamming he got angry with me and started yelling at me

The same as reported below.  Call from Indian scum portraying himself as an IRS agent.  Used very forceful imperative language (when you could understand it).  IRS agents would never behave as threatening as this deceitful person.  I agree, do not give him any information or attention to this creep!  He belongs in prison!

Got the same call this morning at 8:15 am from 530-238-5813 let voicemail pick it up same as everyone is saying asking if I had an attorney and that I owed the IRS back taxes, and very important I call them back , NOT  going on the call block list for them

A guy called himself Kevin Johnson from the IRS with very heavy accent of middle east left message and when called back he asked for phone number I was calling from.  Then knew my name, and said that he has been trying to get a hold of me for not paying taxes that have been reviewed over the past 8, 9 years and asked if I had an attorney.   Told I wasn't sure what he was talking about and I asked him why he was calling my ex wife's house, and  not calling the number on my lastest tax return.  No answer, just that I needed to pay taxes, and why haven't I paid them.  Told him that I make regular payments for my business, so I wasn't sure what he was talking about.  Then said that they had a new IRS director and that any payment plans would not be accepted anymore.  I told him that these were regular business deposits, so what are you talking about.  He said that bank transfer and checks would no longer be accepted and that I had to send him what I could in cash today, and that I should go to a place that will transfer money, or else the IRS would sue me and take my house.  Well, little did he know, the ex already took that.  So I knew that he was full of s***, and told him that I thought he was scamming me and that I was going to call the local IRS agent and talk with them about this, and I hung up on him and searched the web for this number and came up with this site.

Just got a call from 530 238 5813 (California) and "Michelle Brown" who has a heavy foreign accent was looking for "Melissa" which is a name she pulled out of a hat because the number is listed as "M _______", said she was with the IRS and there was a problem with our taxes, to call back "before a legal allegation" (????) takes place. Her records show there was a discrepancy in our income tax. She said other stuff but I couldn't understand her nor do I care.

this number has called me 3 times in one day says it is very important I call him back with a credit card about I IRS problem and it is a debt collector! I tried to call the number 530-238-5813 and it goes dead on other end. The man on message had a very bad accent from another country. I have no debt with the IRS so I will not be calling this guy back and I believe it is a scam the IRS will mail you something not go through a debt collector

My mother called me who had received a call from the IRS looking for me.  I haven't lived in my mothers state for over 30 years not sure how they got her number but this really upsets me.  I called them back and was told I owed back taxes after they had audited my tax years 2005 - 2011 and that unless I settled immediately the sheriff would be at my house to arrest me, put me in jail for 5 years and freeze all my accounts and assets.  Oh, and they also asked if I had an attorney.  They wanted me to go immediately to a Wal-Mart close to me and stay on the record line with them while I did a money transfer using a Tax Pay Voucher in order to prevent me from being jailed today.  I can't believe people get away with this crap.  I call the police and was told this was a scam but I wish more could be done - no one should be allowed to treat anyone this way.  They also were, in my opinion, from India as well and did not speak good English.

Yes, I/ve been getting the same kind of calls-- heavy accent, threats, IRS, etc.  My tax attorney said that this is a fraud and try to report it. I kept the voicemails.  Let me hear of your experience.  Thanks.

I received the same call.  The person had a heavy Indian accent and threatened me.  He was belligerent and very unprofessional.  He told me that he was going to inform me of important information and that I was not "allowed" to ask him any questions until he was finished.   He told me that because I owed back taxes, they would take everything I have and throw me in jail for 5 years.  He wanted to know the name and phone number of my attorney. I asked him if he was a US Government employee and he got very angry and asked me if I was deaf.  Then he told me to ask the police the same question when they come to me door to take me away and then he hung up on me.

Wow, just got a call from these idiots, heavy accent can understand a word they said. He explained to me that he's from a special investigation department for the IRS. That I have been audited and a lawyer will be contacting me. Hahaha, laughed over the phone, I told him I will be contacting the local authorities on his a** for impersonating a federal agent.

Please make a report with local authorities and ask they contact the Shasta County Sherriffs Office in CA. That is where call is originating. Good luck.

I work at a tax office. A client of mine came in and was in tears! She claimed the IRS needed her to pay $12000 in back taxes. While she was in my office her cell phone rang, she put the call on speaker and a man with an Indian accent came on the line. He was explaining how she must have cash today and wire it to him. If she didnt do so her drivers license would be revoked,her bank accounts would be frozen, etc. She was terrified. I spoke up and told him I believed he was a scam artist. He laughed and started cursing and calling me terrible ugly names.
This lady now realizes it was a scam but she has lost sleep and time from work due to the stress. This should be illegal. We called our local police department and filed report. The Shasta County Sheriffs office in CA has jurisdiction over the area this landline originates. I encourage anyone else who has been affected to contact them.
NOTE: the IRS is CLOSED! They are NOT operating to make any collection calls. In saying that I will add that calling is NOT their regular contact method. They mail letters to your tax home address.

This guys keeps calling about my back taxes which I don't have because I called the IRs and they told me it was a scam.

Keeps calling saying I have a legal issue with the IRS. I know I don't have any legal issues, because I had just requested a statement on my payment plan for back taxes I owed, and everything was up to date and fine. I wish I knew how he got my phone number. Couldn't understand half of what he said, and felt this was a threatening attempt to get me to call it back. After googling the number and seeing the other complaints I realize I am not this person's only victim.

First they hounded my daughter on her cell phone looking for me. When I finally called back, an Indian sounding guy threatened me with losing everything. Asked me if I had an attorney, called me by first name only, and said that there were letters sent to an address I hadn't used in over 3 years. I had IRS problems in the past so at first reaction, I was fearful. The longer I kept this guy on the line, I realized it was a scam. Especially, when he told me the liability was an even $12,000. I hung up.

They are super scammers I have played there game all day and have called them back on the hour every hour they are supper pissed at me right now lol . I asked if he was working for free since the irs is on furlough.

On Oct 7th, 2013, I received two quick calls from these yo-yos claiming to be from the 'Investigation Department' of the IRS. B------t.  On the first call, a man with very poor English-speaking skills talked & said that he needed to talk with me about some problems with my 'taxes'.  I told him to send whatever information to me by US mail & pointedly told him to cut it out.
 A few minutes later, another man speaking better English called with the same routine; then, the first man with poor English skills was on the phone & tried his routine again.  While each man was on the phone, I shouted at each one to cut it out;  also, to send whatever they wanted by US mail.  
 This is a SCAM.  Don't give them any info.

We also received a call from this number and when we returned it, they claimed to be from the IRS and once we stated we were retaining a lawyer he got extremely rude and hung up on us. SCAM!!!!!!

Yeah I recieved the same call threatning to arrest me. Could hardly understand him.  Too bad but the IRS is closed right now Thank God I did not give him any info.

Resent threatening calls from a male from India representing the IRS. For pete's sake, he even had my first name wrong. Who are these stupid people?

Man with heavy Indian accent called 5 times in one day , first call he didn't respond, 2,3 & 4th he left messages on voice mail. Said his name was something Williams, wasn't Justin the first time he left his name and was from the IRS. Said there was a discrepancy on taxes and was a time sensitive matter and needed me to call back immediately. The 5th time I spoke to the guy, he then said his name was Justin Williams , asked for a Jennifer . I said he had the wrong number , he then asked what my name was and I told him it didn't matter it was the wrong number and hung up . This is a SCAM . Be very cautious and don't give any information to these kind of people.

Had the same kind of message left on my voice mail. Called the number back no answer. Recieved a call this morning from Cal   7;30 am  isn't that like 4:30 there time. Caller had very broken  english and was demanding that they were going to put a a lein on my mgt and freeze my bank accounts. I am calling the IRS myself today and give them the number. This is wrong and people like that need to stop and get a real job

This man called and said he was from the IRS. This is a big scam. Very rude. Peop;e like this need to be stopped and shut down.

I just got a call on my cell phone at 8:45 AM. A man claiming to be from the IRS said I owe back taxes from 2006-2012 and that I am going to be arrested immediately and that I should get an attorney if I don't already have one. He had a heavy Indian accent and got very angry with me when I told him that the United States Government does not hire people who can't speak fluent English. He called me an (well you get the idea) and I* laughed and hung up.When I tried to call the # back it would not go through.
