This is a scam to hack your computer.  I got a call this morning from this number claiming to be from Microsoft/Windows saying that someone was trying to hack my computer. Since this is the third time, once yesterday also, I decided to play along for a bit. When I called him on his scam, he preceed to call me the most vile names! When I laughed at him for the language he was using he got even madder and the violent threats and vile language got even worse! At which point my attorney just happend to be calling me, I told the guy that my attorney was calling, that I was reporting the tel no and I hung up.

My wife got a 537-642-9999 call this a.m.  Caller, very heavy accent, said to go and turn on computer. Someone must have downloaded something and there is trouble with our windows.  She would not and he told her our computer will crash.  She hung up on him.

There is no area code 537 in North America or South America..

I got calls from this number but never a message.

I received a call from someone posing as a WINDOWS company employee. I know that 'Windows' is not a company as the company is Microsoft. The lady on the phone had a heavy accent. The number that came in to my home telephone is 537-642-9999. This was the speech she gave me: "Hi, I am from Windows. This is a courtesy call from Windows. There has been a security breech and we want to make sure that you are protected from this. Please turn on your computer, and.....". This is where I interrupted and said, "I have a full IT department that work to keep my computers safe." As I went on to say "Thank you", she had already hung up the phone. I do not know if this is a 'scam' or not, but it sounded VERY strange to me which is exactly why I reported it to the Department of Homeland Security.

Report the number to the Do Not Call list and Block them.  Also post things here on the internet for others to read.  I didn't answer, but wanted to know who they were.

This is a scam.  Give them a hard time when they call.  I totally annoyed the person who called me until they got frustrated with me, and hung up.

Got 2 calls from them from someone claiming her name is "Janet"  from some internet security dept. I couldn't understand her heavy accent (possibly Jamaican??) and asked her to repeat it. She hung up.

same number as ph 537-642-9999 - didn't answer the phone at all - have had two phone calls from that number two days in a row ... have had numerous phone calls about supposedly having malicious software on my computer - and they claim to be from Microsoft.  I've run the antivirus program and there's been nothing wrong with my computer.

denied them access to my computer.  Man asked me if I was retarded.
I am not retarded and letting someone access your computer like that is
definitely not smart.

I received a call this morning from this number.  The person said she was calling about my Microsoft computer.  I've received calls like this from other numbers, so I hung up.
