A friend from US was roaming in Mexico on Iusacell a CDMA carrier,. Every time he called me 551-959-0000 was the Caller-ID. Must be a fixed caller-id from that carrier, probably used as a bulk rate billing indicator at the international toll carrier.

Be careful! I had the same # too.I also did my research. If you pick up, It charges your phone company. That's how they make your money and SCAM you from another country.

this is a call from Mexico City from a US cell phone . my boss just called from his US cell phone and it came up this number. it read NJ call so I didn't answer it because it looked odd. he left a voicemail though so I just called him back on his cell. it's not a scam if you have someone you know traveling in Mexico. If not it's probably just a wrong number.

My brother called me from Mexico City, probably on his cell phone with a 215 area code. I could not read the number on the caller ID without my glasses or I would not have answered, however, I could read the location and that showed New Jersey, which I verified after putting my glasses on. This is pretty much what others have said.

551.959.0000 called, and I didn't answer the unknown number. They left no message, I found this forum via a simple Google search for the number, so I easily added the number to my callblock list.

I received a call from this number also. I checked my spouses phone and my daughters phone and the too had received calls from this number. Looks as I'd once they have your number they are able to get your contacts number and call them as we'll. please make them STOP!!!

My guess is that it is a routing number for legit calls to USA incoming from Mexico, since legit friends calls appear with that ID . It is probable that hackers are also using it to hide their real caller ID's.

I didn't answer when this number showed up on my caller id but it was my daughter who is vacationing in Mexico. It was a bad connection and cut out about every couple words so I couldn't understand everything she said.
