Hmmm-do you really really think that an offshore company could give a damn about our DNC list??? Seriously folks-they are not calling YOU. They have no real idea who you are in many cases. They are robocalling using IVR when one answers. So Paul's response could have been your first clue these folks operate somewhat outside of the law. You can always complain online at the Federal Trade Commision's website-they maintain the DNC and calling laws (with the FCC having some of the rules). ftc.gov fcc.gov
Anyway-they probably can't do much as that is a spoofed (fake) number. Good luck! And folks-get caller ID-why ever answer or even get mad at such calls-just don't answer. Curosity killed the cat-worse yet-curosity can deplete your bank account

About a credit card amount. My credit card companies do not operate like this.

Got this call on my cell phone and an hour later they called the house phone.

These calls need to STOP
ditomb 2012-06-15 17:28:15 Unknown
Recieved a call from that number today and didn't answer. I use Call Blocker Pro which can block the calls. I enter the number, and the next time they call they get hung up on. It's a free app and works great.

I pressed 9 to talk to a live person. After being asked if I wanted help to lower my interest rates, I replied No, but I'm asking to be put on your do not call list to which "Paul" replied "kiss my a**". I would truly love to see these scam artists prosecuted to the fullest. What ever happened to signing up on a do not call list?

I'm not sure when you posted your message but you need to call and cancel your card immediately and let them know what happened in case funds have been used. Also make sure to put a fraud alert on your credit report with the three major credit agencies so no one can take out credit using your identity! Good luck!!

You know this one has to be a SCAM because only TV and Movies use a 555 number.

Just got a call say that the rate on a card was going up. I don't have that card so I pressed 9 to talk to a rep. When they answered I started pressing numbers at random. They hung up.Don't think they liked the noise. HA HA HA !

Called & I didn't answer- didn't leave a emssage
R.T. 2012-05-25 17:18:02 Unknown
Yes, you need to cancel your card immediately. You gave them everything they need to max out your account. The phone number is fake. There is no such area code; no such exchange. NEVER, EVER GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE TELEPHONE! NEVER GIVE OUT ANY FINANCIAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!

gave them my credit card numbers to lower my rate, did I mess up?
Kathryn l. payne 2012-05-22 14:07:38 Unknown
just recieved this call about credit card interest, gave them my card numbers(like a dummy) am I gonna have problems?
jeh 2012-05-21 21:49:04 Unknown
It's an invalid area code and also an invalid exchange.

This phone number called with an automated recording stating something about a higher interest rate coming from my credit card... And that I needed to speak to them to avoid this rate that would be coming or was already applied. Obviously, this is some sort of scam. When I tried to call back, I received a message saying "You must first dial the area code when making this call..." Can someone get a trace on where this is coming from?
Sj 2012-05-21 19:01:53 Unknown
I picked this up, knowing 555 is NOT a real area code number. I got an automated recording of a '... your credit card. You should be getting or should already have received a letter in the mail...'
Didn't listen any longer. Just hope that taking this call didn't cause me to get more headache in the future. Grrr... for all the hackers and bad people out there! :(

Do not know this number. Calls from similar numbers appear although my land lane and cell phones are listed on do not call directory.
