Actually, it probably was Landmark Windows. They have a separate telemarketing company that does their telemarketing for them. This is how they get leads for their Window business and guess what?!? Surprise, surprise - they sell windows AND eaves trough protectors (gutter protectors) as well! The guy on the other end of the phone snowed you! I don't think that he explained that they have Landmark Windows and another company for telemarketing and another company that does event promos like old timer hockey games. If they are continuing to call you guys using this number explain this to the CRTC when you launch your complaint! Good luck!!!

i got one that was 555 323 6565, i thought the 555 area code didnt excist

This number is one of many.No one answers.A while back it was all oooooooooo ect and no answer again.Possible computer situation.

The number called at 11am Sep 20th 2008, Luckily I was at work while this took place. :-) I don't answer the phone even if I did know the number, if its important, they will call back. Thats what an answering machine is for ;-)

This number is fraud or fake. I suspect the number is fake since 555 exchanges and prefixes are not allowed. Why do you think every movie that shows a phone number starts with 555. Not a real number. Only Directory Info can use this prefix/exchange.

So get smart and learn this: Never answer or call back a number you dont know unless they leave a message that says who they are and want they want. If you dont know who they are and they dont leave a detailed message then they are SCAMS! Period! NO exceptions! I dont care what your situation is...if youre looking for a job a real company will leave a real message, if someone is collecting money they are supposed to notify you in writing within 5 days of the first call. NEVER answer unknown calls!!! It is never good and almost always bad. Block them, report them, ignore them, but NEVER NEVER answer or call back. If you do you are an idiot and these scumbags are looking for idiots to steal money from you!

well my father got the call saying they were rogers and started askin personal questions he gave then some of th answers like his name but they started to ask for passwords and he would not give it to them so he hung-up and called rogers in canada were we are from and they said they did not call but the called back and toldhim if his family was not there they would come and pop him  so he called the police

Yes, it is. Canadian law states that "telemarketing companies must show on CallerID units, where technology permits, the call's originating number if that number can accept incoming calls, or an actual telephone number which can be used to contact the company." Using fake numbers or numbers to voice mail which just says "This mailbox is full. Goodbye." *is* illegal in Canada.
I really wonder about the words "where technology permits". This was obviously written in to cover older phone systems where CallerID wasn't possible, but if a telemarketer simply configures their call center equipment to prevent the actual phone number from showing up, how does this law see that? As I see it, they configure their technology so it doesn't permit a real number from displaying, and the law's now open for debate.

It's also illegal for telemarketers to have over a certain percentage of "dead air" or "disconnect calls". I think it's less than 10%. They have to be able to prove this, upon inspection. Obviously, these laws are completely ignored in Canada. I called the CRTC about this to report several telemarketers for using fake numbers and giving repeated hangup calls.

Their answer to me was: "Yes, they *are* violating the law. Using fake CallerID numbers *is* illegal, but unfortunately, due to government cutbacks in this department, we have no one to enforce those laws. We just put the laws out there and hope that everyone plays by the rules."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. How about cutting back some of these jackpot pensions for politicians, and hire someone to nail these jerks?

This # called today, didn't answer, called *69, checked out the 555 area code and it is "Reserved for Directory Assistance applications"  what ever that means.  I don't return these funny # calls.

I just got a call from this number.  I thought it was odd because '555' is for Hollywood.  I didn't answer it and the caller didn't leave a message.  I blocked out the number.

Just a follow up from my post above. I have filed a complaint with the CRTC on this one as well as the other # mentioned. I am, and have been, on a mission all day to do whatever I can to annoy, report, and research anything to stop all this terrible telemarketing harassment. I also tried calling 555-444-3333 only to find that the call couldn't be completed. No surprise there. I have posted complaints on most every website that I can find and do not agree that anyone should be allowed "spoofing". It should be illegal and can see no benefits to it at all.

Received a call the other day. I don't have Caller ID so I picked it up. I heard a lot of traffic (voices) in background (i.e. call centre). I repeatedly said HELLO but nobody answered. After about 15 seconds the call was disconnected on their end. I traced call via BELL CANADA (*69) which gave me 555-444-3333.

Your guess is as good as mine! This should be reported to the authorities which I intend to do!

I got a call from this # today. I played dumb with the telemarketer who claimed to be Jeff and calling from Landmark Windows. He was selling eaves trough covers and I pretended I didn't know what eaves troughs were, so he hung up. I googled the # and found this blog. I noticed the post from Terrificln Tahoma who warned anyone who gets a call from 555 444 3333 claiming to be Landmark Windows, to notify Landmark Windows. I called the manager and explained everything to him. He seemed totally unaware that people are claiming to be using his business in a fake telemarketing scam. I told him to google the # and he will find this blog. God, these telemarketers will do anything they can to make money. It's bad enough that they bother us constantly, but fraudulent claims and phony #s is just too much for me. I have already reported 000 000 0000 to the CRTC and may report this one too.

o.k I just got a call from 555-444-3333 I thought that it was very odd, and They didn't leave a message.  I originally thought that it was a wrong number and a little strange so I didn't answer it.  I researched and here I am with all of you.  I dunno about scary but definitely strange.  Just 2 days ago a bird hit my window and was knocked out for awhile than flew away.  hmmmmm soo I dunno Weird sh.. eh???

Got the call from 555-444-3333 and when I answered it there was no one there... After reading all of you guy's experiences I now know it was a scam and NOT a call from God! Damn ~ I thought it was time to go! F****rs...

Just received a call from this number but as I did not recognize it I did not answer the call.

I responded to a newspaper ad about making up to $50.00 per day visiting retail outlets and restaurants.  I called and provided my name, address, and phone number.  About five minutes after completing the call, my phone rang with 555-444-333 on the caller ID.  Is this a scam??????????

I started to dial my internet (Yes, Im still on dial-up) and before it started to dial, the phone rang at 10:45 AM. The Number was
"1-555-444-3333", now before i managed to say anything I heard on the other end "Hello, Im From..." And then he or she got cut out because of the internet.

This isn't the First time they have called me. I've been called by the same number 4 times in the past 6 months, the last time is when i picked up. lol

555-444-3333 is not a real number.  'They' be it telemarketers, or whoever, are spoofing, or faking the call display.  They do it to get around the fact that people don't pick up on 'unknown number' any more.

I just received the call from 555-444-3333. I had time to answer but when I saw the number and the caller id say unknown name,I didn't want to answer. Then I write the number in search and I read a lot of message about the same. This is real rare!!!! And the area (555) where is it????
