Sorry, typo. I meant to say that I've done studies with them for video games and car features. They pay pretty well too. I once got paid 200 to talk about car features I would want and 150 for a video game study where they ended up not needing me because too many people showed up so they just gave me the check and said I could go home.

It's Nichols research. They aren't telemarketers like some people have already mentioned and I've participated in their studies, which are in person. The calls are to see if you qualify. I had a friend who worked for them a long time ago and he told me that they only call people who have opted in so somehow, your phone number is in their database. Maybe you signed up at some point and forgot? If you are in the area, it's a good opportunity to make some side cash. I've come in for studies and cars and a few times they actually didn't need me when I got there and they gave me the check and let me go home. This is a legitimate research/survey place. If you notice on the official Honda Civic facebook page, Honda Civic has posted on their wall to do surveys about cars. I called them and left a message and they called back with this number.
Perhaps they do some spamming, I'm not sure.

Got a call, didn't answer. No message left. I recognized the area code as Fresno, CA. as I'm from near there, but now live in the South Bay Area. Called back. it seems to be some sort of market survay at a specified location, so you have to show up. They said they will pay up to $100 to participate in the survay, this one in Sunnyvalle, CA. Seems legit but I declined and they said they took my number off their list. Maybe ok, but I don't know. The company shows up on Google as a real company. They sounded professional on the phone, but who knows. They said they took my number off their list. Use at your on risk...

You might want to reconsider...Nichols Research is a legitimate consumer research firm.  I've done a number of studies with them over the years.  Usually they'll pay you from $100.00 - $250.00 depending on the study and how long it takes.  One time a new Safeway opened here in downtown San Jose and they paid me 100 bucks or so plus a $50.00 Safeway credit for groceries while they followed me around and asked me why I bought what I did.  I've done probably 8-10 other studies over the last decade - everything from mock juries to studies on new products - whatever.

I'm doing two studies with them over the next two weeks and will make $400.00 for about 10 hours of my time.

They tend to call people in the early evening because they know that's when people are most likely to be home.

Just wanted to let you know that not every phone call is a scam!  And no, they're not paying me to say this.  Just wanted to help y'all out if you wanted to make a few extra bucks every now and then.  I jump for the phone when they call.

Harassing calls on a daily basis. Caller ID shows "out of area". I answered the call and they wanted to do a survey. Research on Google shows company Nichols Research. Definitely will take this up with FTC.
