Got a call about 10pm.  Caller ID said Hyundai Dealer.  All I said was its 10pm.  they said no. and I hung up.  Since I'd bought a Sonata last year I went by my dealership, thinking it was there telemarketers. They knew nothing.

I called an 800 number on 8/9 and talked to "Bonnie" at Ver-A_Fast to get these jerks to stop. They stopped for a few days, but started again. Today 8/20 I called and talked to "Christine." Told her the same thing I told "Bonnie:" "I didn't want to get calls from ANY of their numbers." Yes, I'm in the national do no call registry, but they don't seem to give a crap. Someone said something about "every time you get your car serviced, they call." Coincidentally, I had just stopped into Merchants Tire and Auto a.k.a. Tire Kingdom (and a couple other names) and got an oil change. It may have been the day the calls resumed. "Christine" said she'd have someone research the problem and give me a call back. I'm holding my breath.  CALL THEM ON THEIR DIME 800-327-8463.

You'll realize why people are annoyed if these people call you every time you have your vehicle serviced. If you had paid attention you would have seen that people are not complaining that they received one call regarding their vehicle purchase, but rather get called frequently for these stupid surveys even after requesting to be put on a do not call list.

Received two calls within 4 hours the other day and another call just now.  This is ridiculous and I don't recall giving Hyundai permission to use my number!

Thank you Mrs Williamson, I'll give Hyundai a call.  I do not like them handing out my number to other companies.  Especially companies that call multiple times without leaving messages, call late at night, and hire people that can't even pronounce "Hyundai".  Perhaps if the calls seemed legitimate and professional, more people would be willing to assist. As it stands now, it just comes across as creepy and annoying.

Survey
I called Synovate to be put on their do-not-call list and it didn't work. They called again and I spoke to some woman from British Colombia. She said she would put me on her do not call list and I shouldn't get calls again. I told her to make sure that was the case as I was registered with donotcall.gov. Synovate.com offers very little information.

Now I'm all Nancy Drew up in here.

I called and spoke to the General Manager of my dealership who claims to know nothing about this but he did say they have to log all of their service things with Hyundai without exception. So in the end I do believe that Hyundai is to blame and not the dealership. I find it hard to believe that all the dealership across the country have all hired the same company.

I called Hyundai again to complain about this and told them that I can't stand it and so far the only thing I hate about owning my Hyundai. While she put on hold she got a call from someone else complaining about Synovate. She stills holds strong in saying that Hyundai doesn't hire this company. I told her that she has a problem then because they are using Hyundai in the caller id and that if in fact Hyundai did not hire them, there must be some sort of violation. Regardless, I added, I want this to end now. She said she would look into it. We'll see.

I URGE YOU TO CALL Hyundai and complain. 1 800 633 5151. If we all complain maybe Hyundai will drop Synovate and the calls will end for all of us!

I'll be calling Hyundai to see if this is due to them.  Sounds about right though. I used to get the service surveys in the mail and this is way more annoying.  I might do the survey if I got the coupons and/or free oil change, but prefer to be asked.

I called the number to find it was Synovate, a marketing research firm.  First, they give corporate # to call: 866-320-4607.  All automated.  They claim they don't sell anything, but offer to put you on their Do Not Call list, so we'll see if that works.  I just had similar situation with a Washington Mutual # and lucked out that they stopped after I'd sent them an e-mail.  Is this some new "glitch" they've figured out to get over on the DO NOT CALL list?  The credit card companies send yearly notices on whether you want to be contacting by "3rd party" sponsors/vendors or whatever. I think all other companies should have to do the same.

I had my car serviced as well. The caller id comes up as Hyundai dealer. They left a message once wanting to know how my service was. They call every day at least once a day for two or three weeks. When one picks up they do not answer and they no longer leave a message. ANNOYING. I called the number and it's some marketing company. This number doesn't take incoming calls but it gives a number (866 320 4607) to call in order to speak to someone. I called and it is even more annoying. I got cycled around and there is a place where one can enter one's telephone number supposedly to be put on a do not call list...we'll see. Oh and one can also leave a message. I took the opportunity to complain about the call and impress upon them to not call again.
I also called Hyundai (1800 633 5151) spoke to Debbie G x54245 who says that Hyundai doesn't conduct this survey and it must be the dealership. However, after reading this I find it hard to beleive but plan to call the dealership to complain.
I suggest all call Hyundai and start complaining so that they take action.

I have been called numerous times...

7/13/07 - 4:29 PM
7/14/07 - 3:39 PM
7/18/07 - 7:51 PM
7/24/07 - 6:30 PM

...to name a few and it's really frustrating.  I really appreciate everyone posting this number and its identity on the internet because I definitely will never answer a call from this number.

In case anyone was curious, yes I own a Hyundai and yes I do my oil changes and service at their dealership.

tom is write.  hyundai is just attempting to improve their service.  and everyone (parts, service, sales) that works at a hyundai dealership (or any dealership in that case) knows what these surveys are.  some people's pay at the dealership is directly affected by these phone surveys and online surveys.

how can no one take a 2 minute survey that can help improve your experience at a place of business?

richmond, va. - they are a lot more than just a heart on some one's desk.  please know what your talking about before you respond. thank you.

I just bought a Sonata last week and this number showed up on called ID today.  Since I know who it is now, I will probably answer next time so they won't keep calling.  Since you also purchased a Sonata, I was just wondering how your gas mileage is.  In the short time I've had mine, it seems the mileage is now as stated.  Would you be kind enough to let me know?  Thanks a lot, Krista.

No joke.. It seems some people use every reason in the book to bad mouth the US. "Our consumerism is the reason the world hates us", "our lazyness is the reason the world hates us", "our food is the reason the world hates us"... nevermind the fact that we find much more valuable to spend 3 minutes to enlighten other people to what the reason of the call is then to waste 15 on a survey that only becomes a hrt on someone's desk.

Got a call from them on 07/12/07 @ 5:32pm and on 7/14/07 @ 3:42pm. Only once in each instance. Guess what I had done two weeks ago? My first scheduled maintenance service on my Hyundai Santa Fe.

This place is a gold mine.

Tom - If you would have read all of the posts you would realize that answering one call and completing their survey doesn't mean they stop calling you.  I had my Hyundai serviced a few weeks ago.  They called within a week and I answered and completed the survey.  With your infinite wisdom...explain to me why they just called again this morning and didn't leave a message!  Also, if you would have read the earlier posts you would have seen that one person stopped into a Hyundai dealership and they were unaware of these survery calls anyways.  And speak for yourself when you say we are "lazy, rude, and pathetic dimwits".  You seem to have all the time in the world to complete multiple surveys... the next time they call i'll just forward their call to you.

Nobody stops to consider that Hyundai is doing the satisfaction survey to improve your service. If your time is so valuable, why are you wasting it posting there stupid messages on the internet?

If you had just answered the first call, there wouldn't be a second.

When I read posts such as these I start to understand the reason we are so despised by the rest of the world as the lazy, rude, and pathetic dimwits we as a nation have become.

Survey
Got a call from this number.  Never answer if I don't recognize.  After reading the comments here, I answered the next time and did their survey.  At the end of the survey, I requested that they add my name and number to their internal do not call list.  Any company with which you have done business with can contact you for marketing or research, or have an agent contact you (such as a contracted survey company) on their behalf.  This is valid for an 18-month period since the last time you did business with the company.  It does nto matter if you are on the National or a State DNC list.  Market research companies are not required to screen their call lists against ANY DNC list except their own internal list.  DNC laws only apply to telemarketing, not research or fundraising.  Even if you ask to be removed from their list, they don't have to unless you have identified yourself as the person they are trying to contact.  They do not have to take your word for it that your spouse is not interested.  It's the law.

Yep, they've been calling me too.  I answered today because I am sick of getting these mystery calls with no message, but when I answered no one was on the line.  I just bought a Hyundai- can't they be straight up with us?  I wouldn't mind answering some questions, but the calls have to stop.
Glad I found this website- I can now sleep soundly.

Repeated calls Mon-Sat never leaves messages. After reading the above I'm glad I never answered. We pay enough for our cell phones. I'm not going to pay to give away information at all hours of the day.

I think if you do the survey my Hyundai dealer gives the next scheduled maintenance free. They hung up before I could answer. I don't know if all dealers offer this free service.
