Called my home number (2) times. First time no one was home and then later they called back and said they want to renew my local newspaper; Starnews in Wilm NC.  He said my subscription was about to run out.  I knew this was a scam, as I told him I have had the newspaper for 7 years at this address, so just when would my subscription run out.  I have never renewed in 7 years.  So I hung up on him.  I am sure if I fell for the scam  he would have ask for a Credit Card so I could keep my newspaper active. Beware of anyone from this number. I did call the number on my caller id and it is directed to another number that then states it has been disconnected. I am sure this is a case of call fowarding so that they dont have to be worried by people calling back to check on who they are.

I began receiving calls from 559 272 6414.  At first it was one call and no one was there.  The second day until now (which has been two weeks straight)I am getting 5-6 calls per day and always no one there.  They are not calling my cell, they are calling my home phone, which is unlisted and unpublished.  I did a reverse look up on it and found out it was a fresno, ca number.  Called the number and was told that 973-9535 had been disconnected with no further information.  The calls are annoying and after reading the comments on this page, I will be calling the local sheriffs department to file a harrassing phone call complaint and to warn of a possible scam.  I am in Florida.

Have been receiving calls from this number for the past 2-3 weeks, they leave no msg.  Finally I answered and they asked to speak to the lady of the house.  OK, they said I owe for newspaper subscription and if I wanted to continue service I could just pay with a credit card and my service would continue with an extra seven days.  I told them "I don't think so" and hung up. I dialed the number and a recorded msg said this number was no longer in service and gave my a 559-973-9535 number.  I called that number and the same msg.  diconnected and no further number.

I live in california, but have a Florida cell phone number. I am receiving calls by this number (559-272-6414)and noone is there. WTF!! I try calling the number from my land line and it is disconnected. The phone number belongs to Telepacific, formerly known as Pac West.

They have called me n a number of times. I answered tonight, they say they are calling for my local papper (contra costa times, East bay CA) Say I owe some small amount. I have to wait for supervisor so the guy starts making small talk w/me. Ask's "how is the weather?", I respond "hot", he say's "hot were he is in Arizona too", Then he appoligizes for the delay the sup. is busy....then ask me "how OLD are you!?" I say  "Are you kidding me?" He started to speak and I hung up. WTF is right!

They called and my roommate picked up. It was a woman who said her name was Jennifer and she said she wanted to talk to my parents. (Who I don't live with at all.) Yeah, so it was weird and I googled it. This website popped up and then I did the reverse number on whitepages.com and found out it's a number from Fresno, California... I live in Florida.

they called me at night. i tried to call back and it just said it was busy or the number was disconnected. but they keep calling and i keep missing the call. i have cingular and live in florida.

Received a call from this number today, but it hung up as soon as I answered.

They just called me this evening at 8:30. The person said they were from our local newspaper, San Mateo Times.  The telemarketer was extremely RUDE AND UNCOOPERATIVE.  When questions started to be asked who this person was, he/she became very nervous and hung up. When I went to call him/her back, the number was disconnected.  I'm calling my local newspaper tomorrow and will file a complaint.  No. Cal

They call in the evening every night for the last few days.  I don't answer numbers I don't recognize; they never leave a message.  After reading these posts I will just ignore.

It has started calling me everyday now, I googled and found out it is a california number but when I try to call it I get a message that a totally different number has been disconnected.

This number 559-272-6414  is a telemarketer, i finally picked up the phone yesterday about after 7pm and they said yes this is so and so with starbannner and i told him no i dont want star banner newspaper and do not call me again. and i hung up my cell phone.  so this is a telemarketer. they are not supposted to call after 7pm.  So when you answer just tell them no not interested and tell them you will report them if they do not stop calling you.

yeah what the hell they keep calling me too 2 times per day... i try calling back and it's a busy signal.. i', getting really annoyed!!! what phone service does everyone have?? i have alltell and i live in florida.....wtf man

Should I receive multiple calls such as mentioned above, I will be calling them back.  If I don't get a human on the other end of the phone, the phone number will be blocked.  If that doesn't solve the problem, a complaint will be lodged with my phone service provider.

The person calls me twice per day if that, and when i call back the number the number is a busy signal, or it just rings and rings and wont stop ringing unless you hang up. I really dont appreciate that since i pay for this cell phone that they are calling. And most of them looking for myla and im not her
