Claimed to be from HP tec support and had gotten several messages/alerts from my computor saying I was having trouble with it.  That my computor was not working properly.  It was showing critical errors and so on. So they were callig to help me with these issues/problems I was having.   I fell for it once and lost everything when my computor crashed the same afternoon.

I wish I had read all this information before I became a victim of this scam! I had call exactly from the same # from a Rodrigues, than passed on the Kyle Smith, also another guy by the fake name of Neil Mckenzie. They were able to get in to my laptop, and sold me this bogus "mallicious" Antivirus service and support. It cost me $250 USD. I am quite affraid that they might have stolen my personal infirmation, and banking/financial info. from my laptop files. The has not yet been posted to my credit card as per my bank. And they can't do anything untill the payment has been posted. I called back this number and politely asked them bot to post the payment, and I don't want thoer service, as I know that they are scam artists. I would like to report this number to FBI so they can be tracked down.
About the company/or the guys that are calling: they are East Indians, with a strong accent, and fake names. but there is a third party that is involved from within USA to help them post the payments, kuz these guys told me it will take 3 business days for the refund, especially when the payment hasn't been posted to my credit card. I'm really in a dillema here, and wish some how get the payment to stop from being charged to my card. I don't even know who to report them to! because this number is based out of California/USA and I have a feeling this phone number will be dc'd before Monday. Oct. 1/2012. Although I willl try contacting the local police and see if they can lead me to FBI. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences with this disgusting group of people!

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Today I received a call from a man, Roderick Jones (more imaginative than John Smith I guess) claiming to be with a company called Global Tech Support Inc. Computer Mainenance Department. He was telling me that I had malicious spyware on my computer. He said that 'my computer' had contacted them through the International Routing System (IRS - obviously not American) with error messages, etc. He wanted me to turn something off in the operationg system. Before I would do anything, I asked for his phone number, how he got my phone number and to talk to his supervisor. He made out as though there was a bad connection suddenly but did give me the number: 559-800-7137, which he said was in Toronto, ON (actually a California #).  I tried it and sure enough, the same guy answered...no switchboard board, or automated phone list???? I told him I didn't know him from Adam so I wouldn't be doing anything he asked and that I wasn't interested, thank you very much click.
