Doesn't this make anyone mad? Judging by all the posts, this scam is collectively wasting a huge amount our time. How can these scammers maintain a legitimate phone number over all these months? Isn't the FBI looking into this? Isn't there anyway we can fight back? If we did, maybe these phishing scams would become less frequent. I suggest we frustrate them by wasting their time - we should all respond to them with bogus account numbers.
I received a text similar to the ones everyone else has posted on here. The account and bank the text referred to is an account i haven't used in over. 5 years. A sure sign that these lowlifes are a SCAM.
I replied "message fwd to Philadelphia FBI "
I also got three text msgs on Oct. 5. We do not have Beneficial account, so I did ignore. Appreciate seeing similar.
I just got off the phone with Verizon because all the phones on my plan got the same text. I wanted to make sure my acct wasn't compromised. They helped me block the numbers and any future, especially those coming from computers or web based texts, which I think these are. Call your carrier. They will want so they make report it. These scammers are making the texts look like they are coming from Verizon. They want to stop this as much as we do.
Yeah mofo was like plz enter yo mofo debit card numba. I was lyke bi*** plzzzzzzz ain't nobody got time foe da s***. I realized da s*** right away it was a mofo scammmmmmmmmm.
I got the same thing and just deleted it. I don't even have an account with KFCU, so I know its a scam
Got a text from this number saying they were with Kessler FCU and I am not a member with Kessler.
Got sent to my teenager, bad thing is he actually banks at the bank that it looked like it came from. I'm glad he called me first. No bank is going to text you something that important.
Just got a text saying, "Keesler Credit Union account limited due to fraud". Keesler knows nothing about this text.
Verizon blocked this call from phone call and text. It's a Fraud Call it said.
If you get a text like this, NEVER call the number!
You could be charged a lot of money on your phone bill just for calling, depending on the scam.
This is the exact text I got today 10/07/2013 at 4:12 pm EST.

It came from firstname.lastname@example.org
Firstly, I don't have any accounts with this bank.
Secondly, banks don't normally text about fraud. Someone would call you or the system will automatically send a letter in the mail.
Thirdly, notice the misspelling of Alert. And the lack of proper spacing.
Also notice that the first 6 credit/debit card numbers are the same as the e-mail address that the text message originated from.
I've seen similar scams before. Been duped by one, once. (Secret Shopper)
The first thing you need to pay attention to if you are concerned about a letter, text or e-mail being a scam is the spelling. Most scams originate from outside of the U.S. where the laws are very different, or haven't been updated to the electronic age, or just simply aren't being enforced.
The second is where it came from. Is it a trusted and reliable source? Have you dealt with the source previously? Also try searching ALL of the information you have available to you. Name, address, e-mail address, phone number ...
The last is the old familiar saying - If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is (too good to be true).
I got a text from "Southern Commerce Bank" 2nd one today. the first listed a different phone number. the text also said "fraud alert". didn't bother to call them back - never done business with Southern Commerce Bank.
I got two text today, Mine came from Southern Commerce Bank. Fraud alert 490426,call this number 631-789-6669. My banks & credit know my phone # and would never just send a text or email. . This one came from email@example.com
It must be a scam. No way am I going to even respond. Wish they would not be able to send these. If you block them, they just use another number.
text from Members 1st of New Jersey Fraud Allert (can't even spell) (478336XXXXXXXXXX) Limited Call 631-789-6669 and another text firstname.lastname@example.org Please call 760-843-0016 Account Issue CumcoFcu. Very sick of these idiots.
text from email@example.com

I got a text from Co-Opservices at 631-789-6669 stating my card (gave an erroneous card number) account limited due to fraud.. call that number, when you call, it's a recording to reactivate your ATM card by pressing 1, then it asks you to enter your ATM number. I blocked the contact from messaging and replied STOP which by Federal mandate they can no longer contact me.
Received text from firstname.lastname@example.org (Co-OpServicesCU) 462652XXAccountLimited it said due to fraud call 631-789-6669 Your attention is needed.
I did not call or respond. I have DO not have accounts with co-op services cu. As as posted by another user no company would send a message like this.
DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM
I also got a text from this number. It said [[MobilOilFCU]] Contact: [631-789-6669]. XXXXXXXXXX]Account Suspended Due to Fraud.
Sure is funny, that Mobil oil is a local Credit Union and that is NOT a local number, and they wouldn't send out a text message in the first place. I'm not even a member of theirs, but figured I'd check on here and see about that number and lo and behold, it appears that somebody in N.Y. has been busy! POS, needs to be strung up by their private parts!!!
Same deal - debit card at a bank I have no account - different numbers everyday two days in a row
I received a text today from Beneficial with 422481xxxxxxxxxxLimitedue to fraud and the # 631-789-6669. the text said that there was an issue with my debit card and that my fund are limited?? and to call immediatley. first of all I have never used beneficial. i called just to see and a recording said to enter my debit #. Do thet really think Im that stupid? I hope that no one falls for this???
This is definitely a scam. I work for Federally Insured Financial Institutions and we see this type of activity often. Never respond to a text message and always consult with your financial institution directly if you have even the slightest doubt.
I just got a text now. I didn't call it because it looked like a scam and I didn't recognize the number. This website is always helpful in matters like these. Does anyone know if there is a way to get these guys in jail?
saying they are from The Beneficial flagged as fraud by tmobile
Just got a similar msg, only mine was saying it was Mobiloil fcu. Thought it was strange since I don't have an acct with them.
This must be a new scam of some sort. I just received the same thing several times.
I recieved a text to call due to my acct being deactivated. I checked beneficial bank website and it notes that it is a scam. Do not reply to the text or call the num. And never give out your personal information
Got a text from this number stating the beneficIal account limited due to fraud...whatever you do don't call this number...hopefully the people behind these scam if you reading this text.... GO GET A JOB AND STOP TRYING TO SCAM OTHERS. HOPE THE THE FBI WOULD GET YOU'LL SOON...
Same deal as all the others, texted from 631-789-6669, "account limited due to fraud". deleted it.
