This woman calls me asking about my timeshare.  I don't own a timeshare.  She claims I "signed up online" to hear timeshare information.  This is crap lead generation co-marketing spam of the worst kind.  Someone gave them my information telling them I was interested in hearing from a sales person so they could get paid for a so-called "lead"  The fact is I requested no information.

Two different people called about a "deed" that we purchased to Lake Gaston, the Club Resort.

The number called from was 561-393-5071.  They at both times insisted they would need to research the deed in order to sell it and would need money-which could be paid by Visa or Mastercard.

Who are these people?

Today I called Rick Volk, general manager of Timeshare Travels in Florida. He assured me that noone from his company would do such as I have posted and that there was a man fired in the last two weeks.

So what I am doing is posting a follow up to my former complaint.  I am satisfied that Rick is on the up and up and unless someone else calls me-Lord help them!- the matter is resolved.

A business company called from Florida inquiring about a Time share property which we do not have.  What we do have is a "deed" to a camping area in VA that guarantees us a camping spot when we wish to go there.  When we die, we can will it to our children and they can use it.

The people calling  wanted to sell it for us for more than we paid for it. But we had to pay  for a deed search.  While it is true that we would like to sell it, a man from the camp is in charge of that.  When I called him to inquire if he had listed us anywhere, he said no.

A woman from this company also asked about the maintenance fees. She passed the phone call over to  a man named George Leon. I don't do this type of business over the phone and   I told them to call back, for  my husband was sick.  The one I talked with called back sooner than I had suggested and I hung up on him.

Another man called about the Time share and wanted my husband to pay for a deed search and told him he could use his credit card to pay.   George also told me that.

When I heard my husband on the phone responding that no he wasn't giving him the card number, I took the phone and told them this was a scam.  I was furious.

I also sent in a complaint to Better Business Bureau.  Today, April 2, the company with the phone number of 561-393-5071 said that I must have misunderstood and that maybe initially I did talk with someone from their company.  I DID NOT MISUNDERSTAND! They also said that initially I may have spoken with someone from their company...?  I did not call them.  They called me. What is going on with these people?

I received a call from FLorida about a Time share which I do not have.  What I do have is a "deed" to Club Resort, a camping resort.  I have no idea how they found out about it, but I have had two different calls from people concerning Lake Gaston and they also want money and said we could use a credit card to pay for searching the deed.

How stupid can anyone be?

These guys called an aging relative and talked her into giving them her credit card number, including the security code on the back, over the phone, with a cold call. They wanted her to pay them over $1000 for selling her condo.  Beware!!
