Got a call on my cell from this number when called back they said it was a discontinued number. How do they get the cell phone numbers
| common sence 2011-06-06 20:51:35 Unknown |
It does not cost you any mins to hit ignore button on your phone. And if they leave a message, it doesn't subtract from your mins to listen to your voicemail. if you do not know the # why answer the phone? Especially if your counting mins? if it was important wouldn't they leave a message? All im saying is why start a witch hunt for people that are just trying to make a living? Hasn't anyone told you not to sweat the small stuff?

Right on JR!
If you do follow-up I will join you and help anyway I can! Let me know.
To the person who says hey its just a phone call please remember that many of us actually have to monitor our minutes because we pay for them, and every one of these we answer costs us against our account. If that's not enough, how about the interruption of personal matters or important phone calls to play these stupid games.
We make laws to stop this type of harrassment and they figure out how to skirt their way around them. It's time we take action and make them understand that we will not be subjected to their impositions.

Please place us on the DO NOT CALL list immediately. I don't know why this number keeps calling my number. I want it to stop! I am on the DO NOT CALL for telemarketers etc.

Received a call from this number today. They didn't leave a message. It must have not been very important. ^_^

To JR: Wouldn't it just make scene to just hang up? I received a phone call too, but holy sh-t guy it's just a phone call. Are you telling us (this discussion) that you have that much time on your hands to "play them"? Honestly, it sounds like you have a few loose screws. I dislike them as much as the next person, but have you ever thought that it could be a working person trying to support themselves and their family?(mortgage, kids, bills) You would think in the economy we as Americans are in, you would try to persevere all employment (tax payers) any way we can. I believe you are just being arrogant about this by trying to catch whoever it is trying to make a living. I suggest a very easy method of battling the robocalls. It is surprisingly simple. If you get a call from an unknown #, hit the ignore button on your phone, very simple. if there is no VM left, then go about your day, and be happy. This what I do, and it seems to work out marvelously. I also am on the the "Do Not Call List) but I am not so neieve to think that it is a perfect system.

These scumbags called with a recorded message on my cell phone. And my cell # is supposedly registered on a "national DO NOT CALL" registry. When you call them back at 561-620-5200, a recording says the number has been disconnected. I left my home phone to see who contacts me about health insurance "within 24 hours" per the recorded message. I plan to "play them" just long enough to find out who they are. Then if you would like to join me in a class action lawsuit for invasion of privacy on a cellphone let's go for it. Stay tuned here. I shall return via "Bookmark."
Also, the FCC has provisions for filing complaints. You may want to check their website. But they really have demanding requirements for detail and laborious forms to fill out under threats of possible perjury if your information supplied to them isn't 100% perfect. Consequently, I think a lot of people just back out from filing a formal complaint and the scumbags wind up getting away with it and continuing to be scumbags. Maybe the best solution is to blast an obnoxious sound into the phone when it asks you to leave your number. After enough employees get an earache instead of a phone # maybe they'll quit this crap.

These calls come in (robo calls) day and night. This one from "Boca Raton" is also about health ins. There are dozens of others from "Good Samaritan" & are pre-record from East Indian person's voice about another's debt to the hospital. IMPORTANT to remember: They are all bogus and will continue because of the lobbying strength in D.C., and even your private numbers, CELL #'s. My govt. friend handed me an article: ALL CELL PHONE NUMBERS ARE BEING RELEASED TO TELEMARKETING COMPANIES NEXT MONTH AND YOU WILL START TO RECEIVE SALES CALLS. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS! Prevent this by calling 1-888-382-1222 from your cell. You must call from the cell phone # you want blocked. Please verify this for yourself, but this tip was valid as far as I have determined. **If you do not recognize the number (and especially w/ no voice mail left) or if you do return the call & get pre-recorded nonsense, hang up! The telemarketing industry rakes in hundreds of millions and you certainly don't want to be charged or taken in by the numerous scams in our world. Ignore it or when possible, put your phone on vibrate or reject--particularly when in your car, work or sleeping.

Today, 7/28/2010, I showed 3 missed calls on my cell phone, which is on the nocall list. If I try to call back, I get a recording saying that the number has been disconnected. My phone doesn't ring.
