PEOPLE. PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING!!!

YOU MAY THINK THAT SOMEONE IS CALLING YOUR SPECIFIC PHONE NUMBER.

THEY DID NOT. THEY DID NOT CALL YOUR NUMBER SPECIFICALLY.

YOU WERE RANDOMALLY "ROBO" CALLED WITH A SPOOFED PHONE NUMBER ON A CALLER ID FOR A SCAM COMPANY.

Important message to all those that have received a call from this number:

There are several companies engaged in scam business using auto dialers. They are ALL scam outfits. They spoof phone numbers of victims all the time. Sometimes, they spoof non-working phone numbers. The phone number you searched for is just another victim of these scumbags. I've done a lot of research of these companies. Actually, there are several affiliated companies, that try to scam innocent victims. They are either owned by the same people, or they sell their business model to other crooks.

One scam is about auto warranties. The other is about credit card debt relief. They even have scams about dish television, home alarms, and more. Their MO is the same. The use an auto dialer, and call thousands of random numbers. They have no regard to the do not call lists. Your demands or complaints to them are worthless. They will continue to call you.

They will not remove you from their call lists. Why? BECAUSE THEY DO NOT MAINTAIN ANY. THEY ARE CROOKS. THEY HAVE NO REGARD TO THE MANY LAWS THEY BREAK.

If they call about a car warranty, the message says something as "This is the second notice on your extended vehicle warranty. Press one now to speak to a representative..." The message about credit debt mentions "This is Account Services. We are calling to lower your credit card debt. Press one now to speak to a representative..." or "The is an important call from your cardmember services. This is your Final Notice. We have been trying to contact you?."

NOW, WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT THIS? If you want to stop these crooks do the following
:
1) Speak to one of their customer service representatives. Pretend to be interested in either lowering your credit card interest rate or a car warranty. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY REAL INFORMATION. Do not ask how they "got" you number. (Remember, your number was randomly  dialed by a computer)

Tell them you have $20,000 in credit card debt. Give them a fake credit card number, a fake name, and a fake SS#. If the call is about the auto warranty scam, tell them you own a Ferrari, or a 1937 Dodge (however, if you really own one of those two, tell them you own a Buick). Give a made up VIN number. If they ask for your name and phone number, give them the info for the person you hate the most.

Your goal is simple. You want to engage them in friendly conversation to keep them on the phone for as long as possible. Be nice friendly. Your goal is twofold. You want to learn as much as possible about them. They will refuse to give you a website, phone number, or maybe even a real company name. They will attempt to give you a generic name such as "Account Services," "Financial Services," or "Dealer Services." This is done for a reason, to throw you and the government off their tracks. Do not accept this. Keep pressing for info. You will need this (see below). Oven when pressed for questions, they will hang up on you. Remember, they are instructed to do this. That is why you must not be confrontation. Be friendly and act as if you are genuinely interested.

Get the name of the company, and if you can, the city where they are located. Most of these scam companies are either in Florida, or in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

EVEN BETTER IS IF YOU CAN RECORD THE CALL.

Also, the time you take from them means them have less time to steal from someone who is unknowledgeable about their scams. They get paid to rip people off. Take away their time, and they make no money! I have kept them on the phone for up to 20 minutes! I realize that many of you do not have the time. But do you appreciate being taken advantage of?

Ever hear of Scambaiting? That is what you are doing!!! There are many entertaining web sites on this topic. For example, see:
http://www.419eater.com.

2) Get the details of these scumbags and post it on this and every other website you can find. Use only the information you get from talking from their representatives and information you get from public sources. DO NOT POST THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE PERSON THAT OWNS THE PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR CALLER ID. Their numbers were spoofed and they are victims.

3) YOU MUST REPORT THEM TO THE AUTHORITIES:

FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION!
Here is the link to file a complaint: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION:
https://donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx

You can also file a report with the Attorney General of your state. See the links below to see how effective this can be.

If everyone that received a call from these low-life scumbags does the same, then the combined action of thousands of us can stop these crooks from scamming innocent people out of money.

Additional information: This is what can happen if everyone were to complain!

Let me tell you how I helped defeat a former scam company. Versadebt, that changed its name to VP Marketing, was scamming victims for years. I found the name of their company through conversation with one of their stupid representatives. And not only did I report them to the FCC and FTC each time, I also posted their contact information on the internet to make it easier for everyone to report.

Here is a story from Fox 5 Atlanta - WAGA that tells how WE took down VP Marketing, just one scam operation. Over 100,000 complaints were received by the FTC:
http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/i-team:-vp-marketing-sued-021710

If you get the name of the company,  here is how you can find their information if located in Georgia, with the search engine of the Georgia Department of State:
http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/CSearch.asp

For example looking up VP Marketing, the former scam outfit, we see that it is owned by Jason Eyer, the dirt bag shown in the Fox 5 video. Here is how you can contact this person, courtesy of public records filed with the Georgia Department of State:
Jason Eyer
1603 Mosaic Way
Smyrna, GA  30080
407-902-1950
407-902-9377

Remember:

1) Be friendly and pretend to be interested
2) Try to get the name of the company
3) Research the name of the company using public records
4) Post the name of the company everywhere on the internet
4) Report them to the FCC, the FTC, and the state Attorney General's office

Berkley Capital had me refinance with in 2 weeks they are on of the best company's i have ever used. They don't just worry about the money they make but they care about there customers if i had an option to rank mortgage companies they would be above countrywide, wells fargo, and all the rest of the huge companies. That is the difference between a small organization compared to the giant organizations who don't even know where your paper work is half the time. I recommend everyone to use them. As to everyone saying there calling a bunch of times why wouldn't they there trying to reach you before the rest of the major pricks out there that try to tell you one thing and then deliver another. Berkley Capital your #1 in my book.

I received a call from the number 561-807 -9435 about a FHA approved loan.  The caller (female) got personal information from My friend who had my tax documents in hand and explained to me that she thought she was being helpful by giving out the information. I contacted Equifax as an alert, the better business bureau and I will report the call to the FBI.  Are these callers representatives of your company?  Are they scammers/theives?  How are fthey connected to your company?

The following is based on facts as well as my opinions.
I am in the middle of completing a LEGITIMATE refinance and my wife was expecting a call from our bank regarding approval. I had heard at the last meeting, with our bank representative, that she would be sending out our info to several lenders who would back the loan etc.
Well, I then get a call, just as I was expecting a call from our bank or possible lenders, and it was this company, Berkley Capitol, that called. It was so coincidental that I assumed it was a legit lender from our bank sources.
I asked the lady representing Berkley Capitol SPECIFICALLY if she was associated with my bank (name withheld) and she LIED and said yes. She then managed to obtain my SS# and personal info. She gained this number under false pretenses and outright LIED.
I have contacted my attorney and will pursue this until these people are exposed for what they truly are.
Thank God for LIFELOCK as I am sure they will block and IDENTITY THEFT.
I have left countless messages with NO RESPONSE!
It is obvious that there are some folks from Berkley Capitol screening this thread. I STRONGLY URGE you to contact me ASAP before you sink yourself into a legal hole you cannot slime out of.
Thank you to the folks who posted previous info as it has made my attorneys job much easier.

This company called me and lied to me, they said that they were calling from the bank who'm i initially applied with and they were calling because my file just came accross their desk and wanted to know additional information for a 2nd quote.  They completely misrepresented themselves and FOOLED me into giving out my personal information such as my social security number and details of my loan. After double checking with my bank to see if they had forwarded my file to Berkley Capital, my lender said no, that Berkley Capital calls mortgage inquiry leads or trigger leads sold by credit bureaus when you have a mortgage inquiry, be careful do not be fooled and do not give out your social!

Not sure how they get names, but they do call people looking for a new mortgage.  HOWEVER,
they are, at best, a boiler-room operation trying to scam you with dishonest claims about their offers...  but quite possibly they are really a phishing scam trying to collect SSN and other personal info for identity theft.

****NEVER**** give your SSN to anyone you did not personally contact for good reason!!!!!!

We are going through the same thing.  We are about to close on a loan and received a call from berkley captial.  My banker had warned us about this, so I asked the girl which bank had given her my information, she repeatedly tried to change the subject.  I called her out as being bs and that she did not even know who my bank was.

I told her to take my name off of their list and low and behold, 30 minutes later I received a second call from them.

The most disturbing part of this is that both times the caller id showed that the number was local and identifed a nearby town.  When I tried to call both number back, they were disconnected.

Beware, these are a bunch of scammers.

Relax People! They are legit company that buys leads of people applying for a mortgage.  Tons of companies do that for leads.  The problem with them is crappy florida $7 an hour telemarketers that make up stuff, and lie (I.e. tell you that yes they are associated to your bank etc.) just to get a lead for their boss in hopes of a little bonnus.  So all you guys are describing is crappy telemarketing skills, nothing to do with a legitimate mortgage company, So far they are very efficient, and rates are competitive, I didn't hear any comment about walking out on a closing because the numbers were not what was promised... which actually happened in my day with some of the bigger banks (that shall remain nameless) not becuase of scams but because of lazy half a** work from underwriting, gosh it used to kill me.  hope it helps

Also the reason you people call back on the number and the number is "disconnected" is becuase those are outbound lines for telemarketers, inbound calling is disabled.

I just received a call from Berkley Capital.  The call got dropped for some reason and I used the time to look them up on internet.  Thank goodness you posted your notice.  They called from 512-258-0795.  I spoke to Jessica who was an assistant to a loan officer.  She transferred me to Michael.  After this call got dropped, I received a call back from 561-807-9424.  Please let me know who to contact about this and their contact info.  Thanks a million!.

I ACTUALLY JUST CLOSED ON A MORTGAGE WITH BERKLEY CAPITAL. I HAVE TO SAY, THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS VERY SMOOTH AND THEY GAVE ME A VERY LOW FIXED RATE WITH MINIMAL CLOSING COSTS. I WOULD SUGGEST TO ANY OF YOU LOOKING FOR A MORTGAGE TO CALL THEM! JUST WANTED TO SHARE MY OPINION.

I have been getting these calls as well.  I googled berkley capital and got a different number in boca raton.  I called it and went through the corporate directory guessing at names until I finally got one.  I spoke with Erica Burke.  She told me that the manager at that location is Casey Mauroa.  Their address is 931 Clintmoore, Boca Raton, FL 33498.  They told me the calls would stop.  I guess I will wait and see.  Hope the information helps.  I haven't checked any of it to verify, but Erica seemed a little shook up at my line of questioning.

I spoke with Erica Burk. She said she would remove my # from the list.  The Caller id says Boca Raton and sometimes capital it is a morgage firm and not real polite. I choose to use my own broker not a random caller from the other side of the usa. Also, as I understand this kind of company cannot go outside of their shoeprint to get clients. Shoeprint meaning the touching surounding states only. If the calls don't stop I will respond back. PS I had 8 calls in the past 2 days 6 in one day and two already today 10;30am

That number has been calling for 3 days straight...must be 20 times so far, I've just gotten used to looking at our caller ID and ignoring 75% of calls that come in, these included.

I guess I'll have to call their office and threaten to drop by the next time I'm near Boca!!
