I didn't know that there was a provision in the statutes of the FCRA for ID spoofing.  Interesting.  There is also a statute in the FDCPA prohibiting caller ID spoofing for debt collectors.  In a nutshell, it says that a debt collector has to identify themselves as a debt collector.  For example. if, for instance, Encore was calling someone, the caller ID for their calls has to identify them as "Encore." not "American Red Cross," "American Cancer Society," your Aunt Tessie, "Unknown," or blank, for that matter.

As far as the truth in caller ID act as it applies to debt collectors, it is a bit redundant - already covered with the FDCPA, and it seems, the FCRA.  It's too bad that this new bit of consumer protection doesn't supply a criminal penalty for caller ID violations.

Have called three times...have reported to FCC as harassing.

Called my desk phone 3 times in one hour, it seems to be an outbound pharmaceutical sales company, cold calling random doctors and health related offices.

Recd phone call from this number. No message left.

I keep getting calls from this number too. And they are calling my cell phone. One call my son answered and they told him they were calling because somebody did a research study with them and they wanted to double check the answers. Nobody did any research study. If they call again I am going to report them. As I'm typing this they just called my cell again and left a message of background noise.

Received 3 phone calls in less than 5 minutes. Ignored the first two calls and answered the 3rd. No one on the other end of the line.

I am receiving repeated phone calls from this number, on my cell.  They do not leave a message and, within minutes, they call back.

Called me in Kansas City.  Got to listen to my 5-year-old blabber on, but then hung up.

I began receiving regular calls from this number about two weeks ago and they call two to three times each day. I never answer them because I know these are scam or spoof calls. The reason for that is because they call my cell phone and I NEVER give that number to anyone. My wife and I use our cell phones only to call each other because we both drive for a living and it's the only way we can stay in contact. For anyone else, we give our land line phone number and these idiots never call that number. My advice is to just ignore them and don't give them the satisfaction of finding that they're dialed an active phone number.

Got 2 calls in the last 10 days. Caller leaves no message!
