just a hang up call on our answering machine, no details

The Numbers are different but the caller ID says "W. Palm Beach". The number I got was 561-271-1567. They done the same thing as they have the rest of you. Today I asked to speak with a supervisor and the dude was rude and at the end he said I had his nuts in my eye. I told him that my cousin is SWAT down there in W. Palm Beach (Which I do) and he hung up. I called my cousin and he said he would look into it. keep you all posted.

call received on 9/8/08 with a pre-recorded msg. saying, "don't be alarmed.  this call is to help you lower your interest rates. just press `1'"  felt like a scam but I elected to press 1 just the same.  a very brusk person answered after waiting 20 seconds.  I asked what company this was and why I was called when I'm on the do not call list?  he couldn't answer and continued to be rude.  I hung up on the a**hole.

I've gotten a number of these calls over the past couple days. Last night the number was 5-062-272-4154 (since when are there 11 digits in a number?) They leave the same message as has been posted. Today I pushed 1 to see who the company was and to tell them to stop calling me and it rang for 3mins, no one answered. I called back this number 963-3697 and got a fake recording that the number is not in service or disconnected. I tried to push numbers while that message was going on to see if there was a way around the message to a person but got no where with it. I tried the 11 digit number and it said it was connetingme to the (teles)? mobility center and the box was full.

Same credit card scam call I've been getting for nearly a year now. New name, new number, same recording! Reporting to FCC & FTC has proven to be a total waste of time. Local telephone company couldn't care less since calls not originating in their area. Third call today with same recording but first two caller ID was Name Unknown/Number Unknown. Talking to them has never done any good, opt out option 2 has never worked they just seem to call more often. Only way I know that might get them to stop calling is get a new unlisted telephone number!

This number calls me continuosly but I use my caller ID to not answer.  I do not answer but it is disturbing.  I am with everyone else---why have a do not call list if it is useless.  Not only am I on the federal DNCL, but I am on the Texas list which I pay for.  When you file a complaint with the State agency, they will not touch it unless you tell them which UTILITY  is calling  ---the telephone company or the electric company.   STUPID.  When I file with the federal, they tell me that they do not do anything except put the company on a list that they maintain.  BIG WHOOPEE.  I wish I knew how to complain about the Do Not Call List and help make it work.

I get a call from this number every day. I have tried waiting on the phone to get any kind of info, but always get hung up on as I ask who the hell they are! I too, am on the DNC and it is a joke....I get just as many calls now as I did years ago....now the same numbers that have been calling the house for years are showing up on my cell also. Talking about getting psiised off.....I am already there!

I am on the "D.N.C." list and am so bothered by these types of calls.  They call at every hour they should not, such as 7:30 a.m., 9:45 p.m. and just whenever.  They are not supposed to be calling anyone on the D.N.C.list!  That is the sole purpose of being on the list, not to be bothered by any sale individuals or i.e. others.  I believe, however, that these calls are made by dishonest companies and individuals whose main goals are to prey upon people who are not so keen and fall into their scams. I know if I have any debt and to whom it is owed, I don't know who these people are and if I wanted what they have to offer I would seek them out. So, "DON'T CALL ME, I'LL CALL YOU"!

Aren't these people breaking the law when they call people on the do not call list? How annoying! Can the telephone company do anything about blocking calls from these numbers?

They (561 963 3697) called me too and hung up when I asked them what company they are.  I will try to report them but not sure how.

Caller ID said West Palm Beach.  They do not leave a message but just hang up.  We are not suppose to receive these kinds of calls.

called at 8:20 am. recorded voice urgently requesting that i press 1 to reduce interest rate on "my" account. i pressed 1 to verify the caller to report to dnc registry. when the man answered, i asked for the phone number of the company and he hung up. i suggest that everyone who gets bugged enough to google and ends up on this page should bother to write what happened but more important--help at least 10 old people or non-native english speakers sign up their phones on the dnc registry because they are the intended victims of scams like this. of course i'm registered and these creeps have a work around, but we can hope the law catches up with them.

This was left on my caller ID, is now disconnected.

First time I've received one from this particular company. Pre-recorded message about reducing home mortgage rates. Offered option to speak with someone so I could reduce my rates, so I pushed "One". Someone picked up within a few seconds, and I immediately asked for the company's address so I could send a "Cease and Desist" letter to them. I had to explain what a "C&D" letter was, and as soon as I got done doing so, there was a lengthy pause. I checked to see if anyone was there, and was promptly hung up on.
I just got done reporting this (including most of this comment here) to the gov't DNC list. I will do some more on-line snooping, and if I come up with an address, I will post it so everyone can send a "C&D" letter.

Oh, and having had this problem before with 3am faxes, if you can get the address of the parent company responsible for these calls, sending a "Cease and Desist" letter really works!! I've had numerous callers stop calling me within a week of my mailing the same letter to them. I even had one company accidentally call my house in the middle of the 3am calls, and I mailed them one, too; I was sent a Certified Mail letter from their legal department begging me to call them and settle things (they were afraid I was taking them to court).

Do these people really think I'm going to be interested in they're invasive calls to my home? Why am I still getting calls selling stuff? I'm on the do not call list!!

Recorded message - did not disclose their identity - just rapid fire promises of reducing interest rates on credit.  Alleged credit holder / originator.

My wife got a call from this number yesterday, and asked if I could check it in a reverse phone directory online.  I discovered there are several of those but even though they say FREE, they start at $15, so I did not try further.  They did give the free info that the number is in West Palm Beach, a residential number, and previous addresses in other Florida towns.

It seems the do not call list only makes a data base of these offenders available to law enforcement... They do not actually make the companies stop...

Wtih G. W. Bu$h having cut all money away from every beveficial program under the sun, (other than lucrative war, oil, & Halliburton contracts..) I doubt that ANY law enforcement agency has the time or resources to follow up on offenders of the DO-NOT-CALL list.

Granted, it is still a good idea to report violators... At least a history of their abuse will be made.

While SNOPES.COM doubted Andy Rooney's advice of repeatedly pressing the pound sign to get kicked out of telemarketer's computer systems, I still do it.

I got a call from this number today, let it roll to voicemail, and no message.  When I called back, got the "this number has been disconnected" message.

Received a phone call from that number. Caller ID identified it is "Florida Call". No message left.

hi yes i also got this call i am actually calling it back right now.... yes same thing happened to me "robin"... theiy said it was disconnected!! I  hate that!!! Ugh!! I get phone calls everyday from stupid TOLL-Free or out of area....
