Geeezzzzz...Guess who is back? Barely 1 month have passed & $TILL receiving these BOGUS Calls...

CALIFORNIA call came in 1/29/2013  3:16pm PST

This caller at 562-184-7857 tops the "HIT (and miss) PARADE" of dirtbags calling me.... THIRTEEN calls from them. I have them in my phone's directory as a telemarketer, so I know to ignore the call.  

Reading most of the reports on this website makes me wonder... what do YOU expect? Your meek responses leaves you wide-open for more of the same. DO SOMETHING to show them you are NOT falling for their scam. Yet be ready: You can tell them to GO F___ themselves, and they will just keep trying to sell you! I admit it, after over a year of getting an average of 30+ telemarketer calls a month, I am out to attack.

I've used other "reverse-scams" on them, with limited success. When I didn't have anything better to do I would keep them on the line -- that would usually apply to home construction or solar energy low-life: All that operator wants, bottom-line, is to make an appointment for someone to come to your house. The trick is keeping them trying, but continuing to answer them questions without committing. After awhile, you can "shut them down" in a way that shows them you were stringing them along... your choice of how. I tell them outright what I was doing, secretly hoping my number would be dropped. No, I have not had a brick thrown thru my window or tires slashed.

I have done another reverse-scam that I believe works even better. But unfortunately, because I'm convinced the telemarketers read these websites, I'm not going to detail that. Sorry; I'm just saying that you can be inventive, if you think about it. They are after you because you're a property owner.

Bottom line: What a sad situation that our government makes it so difficult to report "Do Not Call" violations. I am now shopping for a new cordless phone that will do the best job at blocking MANY numbers. They routinely change numbers, so I believe a phone must be capable of blocking MANY numbers.

12/08 14:40 PST  Just called again!!  How can we stop this garbage?  Blocked, but still keeps trying.  Redial and get # out of svc msg.  What a pain in the a**.

11/11 16:22 Just tried again.  Almost seems fixated on my number.  I suppose it is annoying not to get a response.

11/11 16:22 Started reporting this number in April.  My previous note said started in May, but actually was April. Still trying to call.  Been blocked for a while now.  Don't know or care who it is.

11/05 13:28  Has called in the past and been told not interested (building contractor), but just keeps calling.  Number is now blocked, but just keeps calling.

11/05 13:30 Started calling in May.  When inadvertently answered found someone trying to drum up construction business.  Told them no need here but obviously don't understand "no".  Number is blocked now, but just keeps calling.

10/23 13:51 Broke into another call without checking incoming number.  Ended up speaking with a person who was trying to get remodeling business.  Told him no needs on this end.   Hopefully will end these calls from this company, but not too confident it will be the case.

9/02 15:53 Will they never learn?  Whoever this is keeps trying even though they have been blocked.  Nearly 4 PM Labor Day and they are calling.  Give me a break already.

Starve the vultures out, don't answer the phone when you see their number. If the number looks phony, it is phony. They won't leave a message so that is an excellent screening device.

We've had several calls from 562-184-7857.  If we don't answer, they never leave a message.  If we do answer they don't speak and don't hang up.  I finally called back to tell them to stop calling and received this phone company message: "The number you have dialed is not in service... "

Received a call today from this number...stated they were looking for remodeling (contractor) jobs. I told them I was on the Nationl Do Not Call Registry and they man said it didn't matter because he was calling from address lists, not telephone lists...WTF? I told him to go f--- himself and never call again.

We have the same complaint as those above. We get calls every day and each time a different person. They make up stories like we talked before about work we want completed, which we know is a lie because the work was already done prior to then when they said we last talked. They even call within minutes of each other which happened this morning. Within five minutes of each other.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL MY NUMBER AGAIN. WE KEEP TELLING THESE PEOPLE NOT INTERESTED IN DOING STUFF AROUND MY HOUSE LIKE WINDOWS, PAINTING, ETC AND THEY KEEP ON HANGING UP. ALSO I TOLD THEM TO REMOVE MY NUMBER FROM THEIR LIST AND THEY DON'T SEEM TO DO

I too get a call from this number and they have many more.  I called and reported this to the Federal Trades Commission. They were very helpful under the circumstances and gave me a few hints.  It is very handy to have a telephone with caller I.D. on it.  Do not answer your phone if you know it is one of these scammers...they are idiots and really not bright people.  Just let it ring.  Do not call the number back, and do not talk to them.  The more you answer and talk to them the more they will call under different phone numbers and different area codes.  Mine stopped for about 3 months and now they have started up again because my husband made the mistake of answering the phone.  When you hear the first computer click on the phone if you answer, hang up right away.  May take about 4-5 calls but they will then realize you aren't falling for their childish little game.  They are mental cases actually and enjoy making people mad so I suggest you not talk to them at all.

7/01 11:57 4th call from this #, have never answered and now, since they can't be bothered to identify themselves, I have blocked them.  Eventually, we poor consumers might be able to put these creeps out of business.

I have had 12 calls from this number since I started counting, the prefix 184 is bogus (wish I knew how to do that) I did contact the telephone company, they say, they have no way to track the number. Do Not Call is helpless in this case because the number is bad. best we can do is get one contractor to come out get their card and turn them in as the auther of the phone calls. Good Luck Fishing

I get several calls a day from this number (562) 184 7857 every single day, It very disturbing and this need to stop imediatelly.

Same here and calls every week several times and when the number is redialed it says that number isn't in service which basically tells me it's a call center that can only dial out and not receive incoming calls...

The ONLY time someone calls US these days it's BECAUSE they are a $CAMMMMMMMMMER!!! Yet, WHY even BOTHER reporting anymore to the AUTHORITIES.....IT JUST DOESN'T F-N MATTER....

I get several calls a day from this number (562) 184-7857  sometimes there is no one on the line.  i have asked them not call when there is someone on the line and they hang up on me.  i'm so tired of them  i tried to block the number but have not had luck with that.  Sometimes they ask for me by name and act like they know me.  Really sick of them.  remodeling company

5/28 15:41  Not first call, but don't leave messages and it's a male voice asking for me by name on the answering machine.  No ID, just California.  Hopefully, eventually all the reporting will give us some relief from these creeps, but I won't hold my breath.

They called my gf home and also her cell phone number saying she had won a prize and that it would be delivered to her at 430pm. They also said her name would appear on the 1030 pm news. She said it was some guy w/ a thick accent. Sounded creepy.

Two calls in two days.  Initial call asked to do an audit.  When asked what kind of audit, they hung up.  My initial thought is they are checking to see if there is anyone  home in advance of home robbery.  70,000 prisoners on early release in CA so new scams are o the rise.
