They called me back and told me that in order to release the check I had to pay a $100 processing fee that Bank of America charges. The government grants department stated that grants are always free and do not require money to receive. It is a fraud. I have reported this number and the name the man used which was 562-219-2314, Nick Richards. Please don't be fooled by this scam.

has anyone heard of us graants dept. giving out funds of $5000.00 for a processing fee of $149.00. Is it a scam or not. these people are really trying to rip you off at a time like this and our country is in a recession.

He stated i was eligible for a grant from the us gov't for 2,000. I could get it in two days if i just verified my info. I won it because I paid my taxes regularily and on time. Then he said I'd have to give him my bank account number and the money would be put in there within 2 days, tax free. He gave me this 562-219-2314 number to talk to one of his six bosses later on getting it. SCAM! he only wanted to wipe out my bank account. never give out any of your personal information to anyone!

Received a call from phone number 000-000-0000. They said upon completion of a recent Democratic survey my phone number was pulled to receive a $5,000 grant check. He said that I met the criteria by always paying my taxes, not declaring bankruptcy and so on. He then said that I would just have to show some form of I.D. to the fedex boy, do you know of the fedex boy?, when I replied yes I stated that I was not comfortable giving him personal information. He said I didn't have to and not to be worried he is my friend. He then told me to call 562-219-2314 to get the Government grant ID number, the check number and to verify my information with his financial manager. He then stated my Name and address and asked me to verify. After he hung up I called the number but only got an answering machine. Sounds like a scam to me! Do you know of the Fedex boy? Come on now.

Said I won a $10,000.00 grant from the gov't but I have to pay $100.00 to get it checked with the U.S. Grants dept. they said it is fake do not do it.
