I got a text from this number, 1 562-235-1728
The text said "f*** you!" I texted back asking who it was but no one answered, so i googled the number. Turns out back in january people were getting phone calls from the number most were telemarketing complaints and others said that the person on the line claimed to know where they lived and threatened them

Called, went to recorder, they hung up. What I can't understand is that my message says: "Due to a high volume of telemarketing calls we are forced to screen our calls, so if you want to speak to (my name) or (my wife's name), you will have to leave a message and we will call you back."
It's been that way for four months. We never answer, without exception. The message hasn't changed the entire time either. Nobody has had any success contacting us by telephone in at least four months, and still I get 30+ calls every day. Most don't stay on to hear the message, so I know they've called before and already know what it says. Most show up as a number the phone company says is not a valid number (999-999-9999, etc.). Some with area codes like 001..., fake numbers, most show the caller as unavailable, not available or it shows the name of the state the call originated from. And these are just the ones that stay on the line until my recorder beeps for them to talk, the rest don't wait that long and I get no information at all about the caller or where they're calling from.
This goes on all day, every day. Months ago when I used to answer my phone, 90% of these calls hung up on me after I answered. They were still on the line, I could hear them breathing or other voices in the background, but they would never say anything, they just hung up.
I can't figure out any logical reason for anybody to do that - it's just bizarre, but after being told that we don't, and won't answer these calls, and knowing that we can't call them back unless they leave their name and phone number, and getting the same result every time they call after months and months - this is beyond weird. These people are psychopaths!
I can't block them because I don't know what numbers to block, I can't block numbers without caller ID because they have caller ID, it's just a fake number and a fake ID. I'm not going to change numbers because I've had this same number for 30 years and too many people know to reach me at this number.
I'm at the end of my rope. The phone company says they have no way to stop them, or even identify them, other than the call blocking features I mentioned earlier that are useless for this situation.
I may have to take them to court for harassment, negligence, not delivering the services they are contracted to provide, whatever. I'm not a lawyer and I know I'll lose, but maybe they will eventually get tired of sending their lawyers to court and pay attention. I'm afraid it's going to take a lot of complaining from a lot of people before they get off their a***s and do something to stop this crap. So don't just write a note here where nobody sees it, send your complaints and any information you have to everyone you can think of. Phone companies, law enforcement, gov't agencies at all levels, friends and relatives. If we make enough noise it will be addressed. The phone companies could stop it in a heartbeat, they just don't see it as a big enough problem for them to get involved, yet. Let's make some noise and get our phones back!

rang my phone but when I answered there was no one there, I am on the do-not-call registry and this is very irritating. Whoever has this phone number should be put in jail.

Hi. Everyone. Yes. You're not alone there people. I'm having the exact same problem here in Orange CA. It's the same damn people who keep calling every other day. We have asked them to stop calling multiple times.  They are doing this on purpose so you can get mad and sue them.  They think they have a right to "free speech" that's why they keep doing this.  They need to be yelled at and be WARNED with legal action.  They are sickos and harassing everyone that they don't know. If this happens to you. Make sure you report it to the local authorities. They might be scammers.  Please be aware!!!! I'm so tired of these morons. I hope their numbers get reported and deleted.

So sick of these people.  They call asking for "Alexandra Colins". Told them it was the wrong number, was quickly hung up on.  

On my God, they will not stop calling.  I have asked the telemarketing not to call again from number 562-228-1728 and have registered their date and time of calls and will seek legal advice on their actions.  I have told them that I am on the No Call list, but they just keep on calling. Something needs to be done!!!.

Just pick up a previous call from a 213-519-4688, then an hour later I get a call from 562-228-1728 and made a second mistake for picking up the call. Same situation no one on the other end. It seems the more I answer these unknown callers the more annoying phone calls I get from additional callers. I guess by picking the phone it triggers a live lead for them to sell.
Lesson learned. I will just let it go through the answering machine.

Receive continuous calls from this telemarketing number. I very nicely requested to please be removed from list and was hung up on. And continue to receive calls from this number.

This number calls daily... wanting construction, have repeated asked to be removed from their list.. Blocking number now.

Just got another call from them, so I called their 800 number identified above.  They answered the phone "home remodeling".  Told them Verizon was able to trace their spoofed number to that 800 number and to expect charges soon.  Led to nice friendly exchange :).

Wish I could forward all my blocked calls to that number.

This call is a landline from Norwalk, Ca.....if you call it back it does not ring..it picks up and hangs up on you.  Hopefully you have caller ID..just ignore it!

Hello I would like to know who keeps calling from this (562)228-1728. I get several calls a day. I pick up the call and no one answers.

Just received this call. Did not answer. I live in So. Cal. Getting 4-5 bogus calls a day. Thanks to this site for the information, I will block this number also.

2 to 3 calls per day for the last 2 weeks.  Usually no one there, but I did get a live body on Sunday.

Free estimates for "home improvements", "our estimator is just down the street..."

Time to contact the District Attorney.
