Received a text from 562-365-4825: "Dear homeowner, interest rates are at historic lows. Now is the time to refinance. Would you like a free quote? May we give you a call today"  Of course, my cellphone provider charges me for this junk.  I texted back and gave him/her a piece of my mind (probably a bad idea.) Tried to call the number but got a recording that the "mailbox" hadn't been set up yet. So I did a quick internet search but didn't come up with much.  So I hired an investigator to the tune of $80 (yes, it's worth it to ME.)  Here is the info provided to me about the owner of the 562-365-4825 number:

Owner: Dennis M. Phillips, Jr., 430 S Beach Blvd, Apt 7, La Habra, CA, United States - 90631

Other household member is Sheree Lynn Phillips. (Under whitepages.com, her number is listed as (562) 245-7005.)

I am going to file a complaint as well as write these people via snail mail.  It will do no good of course, but it might unnerve them a bit. What they do is pure theivery because I for one am charged for each text sent or received.  I urge all of you who received a call from this number to include my info in your complaint.  Good luck!

Before i could get to my office to take notes he hung up.

I have been registered with the DO NOT CALL registry and this was my first junk text and I wanted to find out how I got it.

I will report back once I get called again.

I got a text from 562-365-4825 at 11:24 PM 11-29-09 with a sales pitch for debt solutions. The number is from a Cingular Wireless Phone out of LA HABRA CA,Orange County. The time zone is the same as Seattle this time of year, so the text was intended to arrive late at night.

Received a text, same as above, Struggling to keep up with credit card, etc, etc.....everything is the same, except the end, May we give you a call was changed to...Would you like to learn more about this?  I have filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry, my number has been listed on it since 04/2009.  If you haven't already, file your number, if you have, file a complaint.

I talked to this family and they don't even have internet access. The information is false and these people are innocent.
