I received a call from this jerk. He wanted me to go to my computer and log on,  so that he could help me get rid of virus put on my computer every time I logged on. I ask where was he calling from, but I had a hard time trying to understand him. I thought he said PC Richard, but it was PC Wizard. I told him I had someone for that, and he said this is something the tech can not fix. I told him I had no idea what the hell he was saying and to get the bleep off my phone. I demanded a supervisor he hung up. I put him on call block on my phone.

Just received a call from this same 1-563-789-2587. He said his name was John and he was calling from PC wizard and needed my user ID for my computer to clean up a virus that I from a website I just visited.
I told me that I was at work and I googled his number and read all the reviews that are posted about him and his SCAM! He immediately hung the phone up!
Thank's for your help J

This person called asking me if I was the owner of the computer at my home. I was very annoyed, and asked him what company he was calling from, and he just kept asking me about my computer at home. I hate people that bothers me with stupid stuff when I am at work. He had a heavy accent! Couldn't understand him that well and because of that, developed an attitude while talking to me so I gave him an attitude back.

Heard our son speaking with someone about his computer to someone and telling them that 'my dad takes care of this stuff', but all the while obediently doing as the guy asked him to do.

When I came into room he already had opened a Remote Access session with PC Wizards and they were about to start a scan.

The guy tried to give me some BS about who he was with and I told him in no uncertain terms to GET OFF MY SYSTEM (as I was moving to the back of the desktop to find the cable.  By the time I got to it, he was on his third attempt to plead with me to listen to him...at which point I yelled again into the phone that I was disconnecting him from my system and unplugged the cable.

Fortunately, nothing installed and the session logs basically showed my son had just barely started the session 2 minutes before I unplugged them, but they were busy clicking on things on the screen when I walked in, so it was damned close!!!

I was stupid enough to let them enter my computer because they said if there were just a few errors they would fix for free, then of course there were 32909 errors or more and when they said they couldn't fix for free I asked them to disconnect immediately, then another foreigner got on and tried again to persuade me to buy their software, this is when I lost it and raised my voice telling them to remove anything they added to my system and disconnect from my computer. He then started to be threatening and told me it would take 2 hours before I could use my laptop again, to which I said they should inform people of the time frame it will take to fix before they begin to do anything. He then said it would only take 20 minutes to get off my laptop but before they did, after we hung up he went into my personal files and pictures and turned on a webcam and was actually making a video of me before I lowered the screen so that all he could see was my keyboard. He then went to Utube and played a video of an Afganistani or Pakistanian song with a man who resembled Osama Bin Laden type blowing smoke at the camera. Very unnerving and I am thinking that maybe I should call the FBI.  He said he was a rep of PCWizard.

I have been getting calls from this number for the past two weeks but if I don't recognize a number I will google it and this is where I found out it was a scam to gain access to your computer.  So, today I decided to answer to let " Mark" know that I had read about this number and I know he is scam and to stop calling before I press charges.  Of course, he called several times but when I asked for his last name, he stopped talking!  That's funny because they want your info but when asked for theirs it's nothing but silence......WOW!

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it.

I did not give this guy, Pakistani-sounding individual, a chance to waste my time any more than he did. Scam all the way.  Wanted to help me fix my computer as it seems that someone at our household downloaded something off the internet putting the computer at risk. Right....  Pretty flagrant attempt.

Recieve a phone call claiming this company was calling to help people determine if their computers were at risk (I'm sure he was lying about working for PC Wizard but this is a valid company) and asking you to use the run box in Windows to run eventvwr and then run www.ammyy.com
. DO NOT DO IT!!!! ammyy is a remote desktop software program. Don't know what this gentleman with the Indian accent was wanting to do on my computer but he definitely wanted to connect me to his technicians! I said absolutely not, never call here again and I will pass this warning on to everyone I know!! Be careful. You do not want his technicians to be able to remotely access your computer!!!! He was very polite and helpful but this was not a service I had sought out. I did not do the things he asked but I played along and googled all the instructions he was giving me.

Got a call from a woman, asked me if I was the primary user of my computer.  Wanted me to go to my computer and check the event log.  Said she could log in and help remove malware, etc that I had downloaded by using my computer over the internet.  Told her that sounded like a pretty big security risk to me.  I've been in IT for 20 years and grilled her, she eventually hung up.  I fell bad for people who would fall for this, and it is pretty likely they would.

Got a call from this number today. The person said his name was David and he sounded Pakistani. Said he knows that I am sole user of the computer at my house (incorrect info) and that he represents the company that manages the network information for my household (What????). Asked him multiple times which company he represented he just kept beating around the bush. He wanted to get the user ID for my computer to get 'started' with important network diagnostic. Told him the user id was 'mymmscksa' and the password was 'goatsd1ck'. :-) He then read it back to me, at which point i laughed and hung up.
