Just got the same thing for my sports car.  Son is in Malaysia, she (now Laura Madison, laura.maddisn@gmail.com) is working on the St.Lawrence  in Quebec. I traced the the number (4358797128) to a cell phone in Leeds, UT. She sent this;

An email scam that I have gotten today, and good things the mail smells fishier as it goes by.... here is how the mail goes...

It was my son that check your advert and sent you a text to contact me (his mother ) on my email address because i am currently offshore .

Here is where it gets fishy... and a friend verse with net search, found me this forum.
"I just want to inform you that i have just completed the payment and i hope you must have been notified in your email about the payment i made through PayPal, you can check your e-mail for confirmation of payment, so make sure you check your inbox message folder and junk folder for the confirmation email because i have received the receipt here and the money has been completely deducted from my paypal account.
According to paypal's instructions, I have added extra $2,150 to take care of the shipping bills( I had to do that because you are the one to pay the shipper since you are the seller and they are going to pick the item up from you), so email me immediately you receive the confirmation and kindly make sure you read thoroughly through the payment confirmation messages as they should contain guidelines on how to clear your funds into your account immediately.

I sell alot of stuff on kijiji and had the same messages (text) above.  Figured it out pretty fast that this is a scam somehow.  The name I got from14357547610 is Joyce Devon-Hilts.  Had same messages from different names.

Thanks for having these posts... we got the exact same message as CM. Her name is now Becky Hemmer and she is wanting to buy my Jetta. I googled Becky Hemmer and she really is a marine biologist! I will be contacting her to let her know someone is using her name for fraud/theft.

I also plan on contacting the Pilotes base St-Laurent to let them know the same.

I can't believe these people are getting away with this for so long!!! :)

I received a text from 1-201-528-5366 inquiring about a boat I had for sale asking me to contact his mother at the same place with the same message at sea etc. The contact was a women at sea britneyjones@gmail.com.    Thanks to all who reported , sounded to good to be true.

I posted in kijiji this morning regarding sale of my honda civic.  After a couple of minute, somebody texted me and give shannywest@gmail.com to communicate.  Here's his first email:

i had posted 2 vehicles of mine on kijiji and had a pajane38@gmail.com and a rylandleon@gmail.com both text me from different numbers about 2 different cars and they both replied in the same manner over bidding my price and asking to have my paypal account. i played along and got one of them to call me and they are definetly jamaican saying they are from chicago and then i caught one in a lie about his buddy being in bermuda. it was priceless. needless to say dont fall for this crap

Uses the name Michelle Scott.  This time tho her son wants a riverboat...mine to the tune of approx.  $50,000.  Hmmm, let's see....cars, boats.....maybe she'll adopt me? LOL. Did anyone follow thru with the game?  I'm thinking of reporting it to kijiji and the RCMP.  When u think about it this is big money.  Quebec is rife with scammers where Canadians love to treat their criminals with leniency and respect!

I almost got scammed  by this Vanessa Roberts/ Betty. You know when u have a gut feeling that something is not right. Well its a good thing I googled her name and ran into this website. All I can do is sigh and shake my head bc innocent ppl are being involved lives are affected. The money earned is for a reason yet they are not thinking of the affects of there actions. Sigh .......and shake my head. They will get whats coming to them eventually in life bc God does not like Ugly

Turns out that she almost scam me into selling her my car what caught my attention is that she asked to have the money transfered via paypal and that I pay the freight charges $2650.00 before I can get the money transfered
